My problem is that I always buy WWE DVDs used (except for the ones that I find for $5 at Wal-Mart), so purposefully buying this one used (so as not to reflect a sale) in protest of Konnan's exclusion wouldn't seem to make a difference. Maybe I'll write a letter to them?

Well, the first two discs look great. I won't bother watching the last one.

Personally, I would rather track down the original broadcasts since I remember them so fondly, but for a beginner to WCW, this is an excellent choice of footage.
WCW Jericho overshadowed anything he ever done up north.

Would've liked to have seen that really good Bret Hart vs. Booker T match from the spring '98 (I think), but good list.

DDP vs. Mark Starr, I'm fuzzy here. What happened in that match that made it important. After the match Hall and Nash gave DDP an nWo shirt, Page put it on shook Hall's hand, and hit him with a Diamond Cutter, and he caused Nash to go over the top rope. After that he escaped through the crowd, which was going nuts. Oh yeah. The famous Nash pulls a table onto himself. I remember the segement but not the match itself. I agree with Raven vs. Goldberg. That Bret Hart vs. Booker T match. I knew it wasn't going to be on there but I would loved one of the best of seven with Benoit and Booker. But this looks like a must have DVD. Since I watched a lot of it. Some of it I have on VHS somewhere.

I was shocked to see that the Bret Hart vs. Benoit "Owen Hart tribute match" wasn't on there, but then I remembered the whole family stranglin' thing.
This is actually a pretty damn comprehensive list. So glad that they actually got a WCW guy to host it over somebody random like Matt Striker and Tiffany. "Celebrating WCW" makes it sound like it might actually treat the promotion with respect for a change, rather than being the usual WWE hatchet job.

Damn WWE and their Rey Mysterio Mask-Embargo. I want to see some Filthy Animal hijinks.

Well, the first two discs look great. I won't bother watching the last one. The last disc has Sting v DDP and Booker vs Lance Storm, so it's got those going for it. I'm glad at the lack of Konnan, more specifically Konan and the Filthy Animals promos. Thank you WWE for not putting "You like this shirt? Feel it. That's enough." on DVD. Every time I was hoping for somebody to hit Konnan during the middle of it, or for Goldberg to come out and spear him. I do wish there were some Goldberg squash matches. I don't care if the damn entrance lasted longer, those were some entertaining squashes. Hell they should have put Goldberg vs La Parka on there. I know it's the match where La Parka blew out his knee, but it was fun to watch La Parka hit Goldberg with the chair, it not faze Goldberg, La Parka do his dance and just as he turned around he gets hit with a spear.

no Bam Bam, Kanyon, Benoit, Konnan, Hak or Raven (he'll be seen on the Juvi vs. Kidman match from 98 along with Saturn, freakin awesome match btw) makes me a sad panda, it's for political reasons obviously.
but hell I'll buy the set the day it comes out!!
when does it come out??

Wow, looks like a great dvd aside from the lack of Raven stuff (and considering he sued WWE a few years ago, I'm not surprised).
I'm probably in the minority, but I'm glad Konnan's not on it. He was always one of my least favorite performers in WCW. All he did was stand around talking about strawberries and "peelin' potatoes", and he was pretty sub-par in the ring.

I'm not so sure. Jeff Jarrett got a match, and you can probably count the number of people Vince hates more than Jarrett on one hand. Raven might be one, but it's almost certainly a matter of not enough space for the others. I also won't miss seeing Konnan. His promos had absolutely nothing beyond his catchphrases, said catchphrases were lame as hell, and he was involved in some of the stupidest feuds in history. Bow wow wow, yippee-yo yippee-yay.

GREAT set. Buy buy buy this, guys, because there are enough good Nitro matches and moments to do a Best of Nitro II yet, so let's get the word out that the WCW footage is a goldmine. WWE will go with whatever makes money, and just as easily drop something that doesn't, so I really hope this sells. Sting-DDP on DVD at last is particularly awesome. And Sting in general is all over this set...Real Estate Steve's gonna be picking up some royalty cheques here. Sweeten a possible deal next year...?

I'd like to see the cover art
It should have Sting smacked dab in the middle, if you ask me

I had no idea Konnan was the Mexican Ultimate Warrior, did he s*** in all of your bags like he did Juvi's (which I learned about yesterday, lol)? Maybe I can look forward to a Self Destruction of Konnan DVD, then.
I had no idea Konnan was so hated, just that he was what immediately came to mind whenever I thought about Nitro era WCW because whenever I turned WCW on Konnan was there doing something.

He never failed to annoy many....MANY people, and while I was ALWAYS a fan of his wrestling, giving him a microphone was a HUGE waste of time and an IMMEDIATE channel changer to RAW for me. Those weeks with the "dog show" pre-emption were dark days indeed. Thank GOD for the mute button. ;D

K-Dawg was beyond annoying as a member of the Wolfpac or the Animals. wow. He drove me nuts. Also do you think this DVD will have those weird columns on the side?
