It would be much better than Drew Carey. Arquette is a fan who respects wrestling. Arquette reportedly donated all of the money he earned from the PPV he was on as WCW Champion to the families of Brian Pillman and Owen Hart and to Darren Drozdov to help pay for his medical expenses. That was a very classy move and shows that he respects wrestling and wrestlers. Putting the title on him was reportedly Tony Schiavonne's idea and Russo supported it. Arquette didn't lobby for it and if I recall he has said that he didn't think he should have been made champion.

I think the problem with inducting David Arquette is that him winning the World Heavyweight title is looked upon as one of the most idiotic things WCW ever pulled off. So WWE honoring him for an event that is largely mocked and laughed at would be WWE owning that failure when they don't have to. Also he was a WCW celebrity and I'm not sure we want the door open to the likes of Dennis Rodman and Jay Leno. If WWE wants to induct celebs, induct the ones that "earned" the induction via WWE participation.
P.S. Not saying what Arquette did with the money wasn't great though.

It wasn't really an idea, just a joke. Schiavone joked that they should put the title on Arquette and everybody in the room laughed except Russo.

I hear that's how a lot of his booking is done... wait until someone cracks a funny and put that on TV. Back to the topic from a page or two back about an actual WWE Hall of Fame building... what would they put in the Drew Carey section. I'm struggling to think of stuff other than the Royal Rumble tracksuit, a pair of glasses and a video of THAT Richard Simmons skit from Whose Line Is It Anyway? on endless loop (which Drew wasn't actually in, but it happened on his show and is hell funny).

What about footage of his 1-hour draw match with Bruno Sammartino at the Garden in 1983? Or when he won the NWA World Championship from Gene Kiniski in their famous steel cage match in Toronto?

I think they should induct the Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair and Jim Brunzell), and have Iron Sheik as the presenter.

JR said in his blog today that the HoF announcement tonight is for the second last name to be honoured at the ceremony and that the announcement in Chicago is "appropriate for multiple reasons."

I was happy that The Road Warriors were going in. And then they announced Paul Ellering was going in too and it made me even happier.

I'm very happy WWE is including Precious Paul in the Road Warriors induction.
Who will induct them? Maybe Arn? Arn Anderson wrestled the Road Warrior many times and he works for WWE. Johnny Ace is possible too, but I doubt they would go that route.

I heard Dusty is supposed to induct them. Like I said before, I would mark big time if Animal once again stabs him in the eye with a spike.

Oh yeah, that would be very appropriate too thinking back to the mid/late 1980s in the Crockett territory and with the original WarGames matches. However, I kind of wish Arn could do it, because he has never inducted any one yet and I think he could give a more focused, serious sounding induction putting over the Road Warriors. However, Dusty is still a good choice, but we have seen him behind the podium at Hall of Fames a few times now.

Not to mention he's a great talker...he never gave the same promo twice. That's how good he was. When the day comes for him to get inducted, if it's not Flair it should be Tully or JJ.
