If they don't want it to be that is.
While it seems they have done everything possible to murder the group, if they wanted The Nexus to keep going and with a little steam, I think there's still some fuel in the tank, if done right.
It would have to start with the ousting of CM Punk as the leader.
Possibly upon the returns of the Nexus members from their puntings, they swerve Punk and beat him down. Have Otunga cut a promo about how they were never "One" and were only being used by CM Punk, etc, etc.
Have them put their focus back where it belongs.....the bigger picture, whatever the hell that may be.
You would need someone to be the "voice of reason" that got in their ears and made them snap out of Punk's trance. A good choice for that would be either Michael Tarver or Skip Sheffield, both of whom should re-join the group to help bring a little legitimacy back.
I think Otunga would be fine as the vocal leader, but ultimately, I still feel the climax needs to be some kind of plot to take over more then just Raw, which is where The Corre would come in. Which I thought was where things would head when The Corre came about, but instead, nothing.
The most likely scenario is that after WrestleMania, Nexus is gone and dead. But if they wanted to, I think it's salvageable.

I respectfully disagree. If they ousted their leader again and tried to reboot it, it'd be pathetic at worst and laughable at best.vlet it die. It's a shame, there was SO much potential in the beginning.

Barrett comes in, Wastelands Punk, cuts an epic promo about how he was right about Punk all along and how he's taking back *his* Nexus, the rest of the Corre/Nexus comes out and pose in the ring, then cue We Are One.
Instant relevance.

I kind of like how the faction split and then neither could be as powerful as the original. It's kind of realistic in a way. People get upset whenever things don't go well (kayfabe) for a wrestler or group. Like wrestler losing streaks. But everybody can't always do well. Some people or groups (in kayfabe), just have to fail sometimes. Nexus failed, they should go away, and the next storyline could be how the former members get their careers back together - do they form tag teams, try to go it alone? Some will inevitably fail (in kayfabe), as they should

Ideally, Orton punts Punk at Mania, he disappears for about a month, and when he comes back he makes no mention of Nexus.

The problem to me, at least, is even if Barrett DOES take back control, who cares? The Nexus under Barrett were losers with occasional moments of looking good. So if they officially reformed (The Corre is the best of the original Nexus IMO) so what? They were stopped....a lot....they would just be stopped again.

Barrett "taking it back" would be pointless. He ALREADY took it back the moment he got Gabriel and Slater. He's got a new group that is "better" than the Nexus.
People just want to see this because they don't like the Corre name/logo/song.

I think you could still squeeze something out of Nexus but it kinda needs an overhaul. Punk as the leader and Seth Rollins as his second in command, along with Mason Ryan, Skip Sheffield, and Michael Tarver. And personally I'd like to see Darren Young win NXT and forget about the stupid next season stipulation and join this group because I never liked the fact that he got kicked out to begin with.

Nexus dies the secong Orton gets up from pinning Punk at Mania. It's over. Theres a reason they only have one active member.

Instant relevance. I'm of the school of thought that the Corre was made primarily to keep Barrett heel. And, he is great at it. Problem being he's so damn likable, as is the rest of the Corre. I think if they'd wanted to, he could have become instant baby face from the moment Nexus screwed him over, but Punk/Nexus wasn't all that flushed out to begin with. Besides, after Punk, who'd Barrett feud with? As much as I'd mark out to the above mentioned scenario, I'm just glad he wasn't buried.

People just want to see this because they don't like the Corre name/logo/song. Exactly. Nexus could have been the nWo of this decade in the sense that its name/logo/song was arguably cooler than the memebers that comprised the group itself.

Would the "Ambiguously Gay Duo" comment result in constant "CM Punk is a Homophobe!!!!" discussion? Somehow I doubt it.
