Horrible officiating tonight... from the Kofi passing out and losing the title to Ziggler, to the Christian foot under the rope, to the Main Event and just REALLY not even caring about making the count until the final pinfall, the match endings tonight were pretty horrible. I still don't understand the Kofi/Ziggler ending, especially when Dolph used the rope as leverage on the sleeper, and there was no three arm thing or tap out. Gah. I loved a lot of things about tonight, and got lost in the moment with Orton and Christian... but the officiating took me out of it

I noticed this as well, and it made me go back to the thought I often have that wrestling officiating is the dumbest thing ever. Like, I know its fake and everything, but the finish to the Orton/Christian match was awful. THERE IS A GIANT VIDEO SCREEN AT THE TOP OF THE RAMP!! That was just so f***ing illogical to me. I know what the whole spot was...but still.
Black Ref wouldnt have f***ed that up!

And hell, wasn't the ref for Orton/Christian the same guy who deduced The Miz's trickery at Over The Limit? If he can do that, why not notice Christian's legs under the rope during the pinfall?

I'm pretty sure. I mean...again, there really isnt room to bring logic into something like this thats outcomes are predetermined, but you'd think after HOW MANY f***ING YEARS the refs wouldnt 'f*** up' all that much. Getting knocked out every now and then, sure, letting stuff go on behind your back every now and then while youre distracted by outside interference or whatever, fine, but stuff like the orton/christian match shouldnt happen in a modern WWE ring. I KNOW ITS SCRIPTED. by the way, where the hellllll was teddy long at the end of that match huh? He HAD to have been in the back watching that. He's come out and reversed decisions before. BULL. SHIT. /RANT OVER

I bet you this is setting up Christian blowing up at Teddy Long.

They kept the camera on FOR A REALLY LONG TIME after the Orton/Christian match, so I figured we would be seeing Teddy Long.... and then we just got the blow up and belt shot.
Hope they don't sweep it under the rug.

Maybe it's the start of a new referee's strike angle!!!
This time, I hope it's black ref who decides to not strike and keep working. But when the other refs try to jump him, he just kicks all their asses!

What annoyed me about him was that on close 2 counts he gets a hitch in his motion that makes it obvious that the guy is going to kick out before 3

That slow three-count has been passed down the Armstrong line for generations!

what about that strange pinfall count on Smackdown this past week i9n the 6 man tag match? Am I imagining it, or did that same ref mess up prior to that, too? I thought it was on the smackdown before last, but I just can't seem to remember what it was exactly. I'm sure he screwed up twice, though.

I hate the way he counts. Always have always will. Just seems so.... anticlimactic. I love the way people like Chodia and Little Natch will throw themselves to the ground. Armstrong just PAINFULLY SLOWLY bends down and lumps his arm up and down. It's painfull.

I bet you this is setting up Christian blowing up at Teddy Long. I second that motion and maybe Christian demanding Teddy be fired after what the Big Show did on the last Smackdown despite being told not to

Can anyone tell me if the refs know what's gonna go down ahead of time? Or do they not know? Me and a friend were discussing this and we weren't sure. I know it's scripted, but are the refs told what's going to happen?

I know it's scripted, but are the refs told what's going to happen? Those are really good questions. I've been curious about this myself. I know they wear earpieces, and from what I've gathered by watching "Everyone Talks TOO MUCH" in the Botchamania videos, they are the ones that seem to call the end of the match.

But that count this last week on SD really perplexed me & stood out. It's possible they're setting up a Danny Davis-like storyline, I guess.

I know that they know the finish and any key spots they need to be aware of and how much time the match should be I'm guessing they get updates via their earpiece.
