maybe Hawkins was less intimidating? maybe since he didn't have a match Hawkins was standing around looking bored? maybe they recognized Hawkins from being on ZTLIS a couple times?
Young Bucks: Oh hey aren't you Curt Hawkins Hawkins: Yeah (they shake hands) Young Bucks: We saw you on Z True Long Island Story a couple times, you think you could introduce us to Zack Ryder? maybe get his autograph? Hawkins: ..... Booker T: WUT DA HAEL Hawkins: It's ok I get that a lot.

I think the introducing yourself to vets thing is a respect issue, isn't it? Booker T has done a lot in the business...so to him...why does he have to introduce himself to someone that wants a job in the company? Sure...it is ego driven. But if I wanted a job in my business and walked past a veteran in the company where I wanted to work you're damn straight I would introduce myself. It shows respect and a desire to get the job. You never know if the boss is going to ask that veteran his/her opinion of you before the boss makes the hiring decision. They don't have to introduce themselves...but they would look a lot better to the adults if they took that initiative. everyone should have their own opinion, but I say HELL NO to this that would mean that Matt & Nick Jackson must shake hands with almost EVERYONE backstage, since everyone is around longer than them and has contributed more to the business as well it's just retarded old-school crap for ppl with self-esteem issues (Booker, RVD, Goldust? sounds about right)

Sooo... is their brother (is it really their brother?) trying to ensure that neither of them even sniff WWE again? Because it sure seems like it. Booker and RVD are jealous of the Bucks? Rich, multi time World Champions, who are very well respected throughout the industry (even if RVD has dropped alot in fans eyes) are jealous of the Young Bucks? Gotcha.

But would you rather feel like a douche bag shaking EVERYONE'S hand and have a job, or have a great self-esteem and be unemployed? What's it hurt to take ten minutes when you walk in the door to personally greet everyone you see? Like Helms said...everyone that works there could be watching how you handle yourself. Edit to add: Wrestling is its own funky little world. But this theory goes for most any real job. When you are in for an interview anyone in the building could be watching to see how you act. You go to the bathroom while you are there and piss all over the urinal and someone sees it...you may not get the gig. When you want to work somewhere...you do EVERYTHING you can to get the job. Check the ego at the door.

Basically, RVD said they were young and didn't kiss his ass backstage so they weren't worth having around. RVD's sideYB's sideI love how "being young" is a legit complaint to RVD. I mean, you can't have these wrestlers going around being all young and stuff.

How ironic that RVD is now the old guy in pro-wrestling.

that would mean that Matt & Nick Jackson must shake hands with almost EVERYONE backstage Yes, that's the etiquette of the business - if you are new in a locker room, you go round and introduce yourself to everybody. Booker T did it, Goldust did it, RVD did it - Steve Austin, The Rock, Hulk Hogan , Roddy Piper, Randy Orton and his amazing thighs, CM Punk and John Cena did it, And if they can do it, the Young Bucks can do it. It's the etiquette of a lot of sports locker room. You're going to have to work with some of these guys later (and in a tryout you're unlikely to know who you are facing until you're ready to go out). If you haven't had the confidence or respect to go and introduce yourself when you arrive in a locker room, how are you going to be in the ring with them. There are lots of little etiquette and respect things around wrestling, and they're there for a reason - these people could be putting their bodies in your hands in a few minutes time. They need to trust you from the moment they meet you. If you can't meet someone like Booker T (who has done everything worth doing) or Goldust (who is a freaking road agent, and might even be physically involved in your tryout) as prospective colleagues without even adhering to the unwritten rules of the vast majority of wrestling locker rooms, then they should be lucky they even got their tryout, let alone just got moaned at on Twitter.

It's not that hard. Any job I have, I go around and introduce myself to everyone/shake their hands on the first day. It's not going to kill anyone. Jeez...

Velvet Sky spoke out on behalf of The Young Bucks, whom Booker T slammed via Twitter for breaking locker room etiquette at this past week’s WWE television tapings. The TNA Knockout feels their shyness may be interpreted as disrespect, but they actually mean well. “Very surprised to hear all of this controversy with The Young Bucks. From what I always witnessed, they were respectful with everyone,” she wrote on Twitter regarding her former colleagues. “I think their shyness gets interpreted as disrespect but I know them and they mean well.”

I guess he expected them to drop to their knees at the mere sight of him, chanting "all hail King Booker" and kissing his feet.
I lost respect for Booker over this

I don't see it being a problem following some minor wrestling tradition like going around shaking everyone's hand. It isn't like you have to buy everyone dinner or something, it's just a handshake and a brief introduction.

If I'm going to be in the ring with someone, put my life and safety in their hands, dammit I'm going to make an effort to introduce myself to them and at the very least shake their freakin' hands.
This is already way overblown.

So apparantly they're very shy. Speaking as someone who's also extremely shy, I'm guessing that suddenly seeing all these big names that they grew up watching (they are both still very young and are big wrestling fans at heart) may be a bit overwhelming. I don't think I could be in the wrestling business myself because I know I'd just freeze up completely when a big name walks by me. I can kind of sympathise with their side, really.
Of course I also agree that wrestling is probably the wrong buisness if you're shy, too.

If I had already been called out on this before, true or false, I would probably try to make sure it didn't happen again.

I'm sure I recall a big name from the past being pretty shy. I don't think it's the wrong business as long as when you get out there you put it past you and perform. Some people are just shy interacting with people; its not gonna help you but it's not a deal breaker I don't think.
