I was half paying attention to it when it happened. I figured they were too cheap to get Johnny Cash, but then when Katy Perry started playing, I was really too shocked to have a reaction. Then again, I'm burned out from a long day. But I think I was mostly shocked, with slight hints of both disgust and giddiness from the pure ridiculousness of it all. Would Katy Perry be any cheaper though? Did they still play Triple H's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" intro 'cause I'd suspect that the be the most expensive get of them all. I'm so confused. I think someone just thought it would be funny. I can't imagine them doing this thinking this was a great idea. You might be right. I never trust WWE to use logic most of the time. I'd figure Metallica would be more expensive than Cash, and it figures Katy Perry would be more expensive as well. This all could've just been a rib at 'Taker. Who knows.

Never heard the song before, so it really caught me off guard. Listening to it now, and... wow. Who the smurf thought this fit the Undertaker!?

At Taker's last wrestlemania I want them to play a rib on him and have his theme suddenly be the Barbie Girl song. Meanwhile Taker has to act serious and slowly walk up to the ring while the full song plays. How about "I'm too sexy" by Right Said Fred? Well, I did read somewhere that Dashing was the original gimmick Taker once he returned.

Okay, just for lolz, I'm wondering how many people are setting "E.T." as Taker's theme in SvR11... =D

They couldn't think of calling Mark Collie to use "In Time"? At least that would have made a little more sense with Taker. Considering they already used "In Time" for a Taker/Trips hype package for the match, I doubt it would've been too much of a problem to use it again. I want video proof of this, I know it happened but I skipped out on the clip show in favor of a Smackdown replay since I'd missed it last night.

Why didn't they just use his regular theme if they didn't want to pay for Cash?

Its probably for the song's promotion so they don't have to pay to use it for this showing.

I wish it was "California Gurlz" instead. Either that, or teenage dream. This is probably the FUNNIEST thread title I've ever seen.

The only explanation that makes sense to me is that NBC somehow profits off of that song and not off of Johnny Cash.
Wikipedia confirms that the two belong to different labels. NBC, IIRC, is owned by General Electric - does GE have ownership of or a partnership with Capitol Music Group?

Video is up on Youtube now, search for "Undertaker new theme song"
And yes, it's as ridiculous as it sounds.

On review that would work nice for a diva.
But THE UNDERTAKER...no.
