I just want to see Del Rio as champion just to see if he'll decide to change things up, character-wise, once he has achieved his "destiny" He'll just say it's his destiny to win at the next PPV. That will be all he says in the build-up for every feud.

That will be all he says in the build-up for every feud. Kinda like how there for about a month he every week on both shows just kept showing up during other people's segments to say he was going to win the Rumble, while everyone just kind of ignored him. And yeah, I have to think that if del Rio won the title, he'd just start going on about how it's his destiny to be the greatest champion ever. Then when he lost it he'd talk about his destiny to win it back.

Well, that's actually really smart. You work the arm, and then you hit your finish, which is an arm submission. Why wouldn't you do that? He's trying to win a match. That's why I like the PWI 500s over things like, the Observer awards, because they mostly take what one would like in a particular match, where PWI mostly takes into account what happens on television and apart of kayfabe. It's smart strategy, and so far it's been successful, so stopping it would be kinda dumb. well what if he needed to get a pinfall win or to knock someone out. His opponent can pull himself up with one arm in a last man standing match. Simple, work both arms!

So what you're saying is, when we going into the match, we already know what's going to happen? You mean, we really did already know that?

Hmm. Now that I think about it... I think Del Rio could benefit from a second finisher (a non-submission move to be specific). After all, Kurt Angle didn't rely on the Anklelock. He had the Angle Slam, too.

Wait, wait, wait. I thought "working the arm" was an example of the almighty PSYCHOLOGY!!!!!!!! or something? Exactly. It almost seems like some may be groaning because Del Rio was booked to beat the internet darling D Bryan. they already had the exact same thing happen at King ot the Ring Hmm. Now that I think about it... I think Del Rio could benefit from a second finisher (a non-submission move to be specific). After all, Kurt Angle didn't rely on the Anklelock. He had the Angle Slam, too. that's the main thing, yes

Work the leg, then figure four.... we've seen this for about 30 years now. He has the same match with pretty much anybody. He needs a finisher that isn't a submission in my opinion... I want to love the guy and I DO like him, but it's pretty much, you see one Ric Flair match, you've pretty much seen them all.
Thoughts?

Thoughts? actually early in matches Flair does and did more than work the leg. He used at least a couple different types of suplexes for one.

Also, how often did Flair actually end matches with the Figure Four? Seemed more like the thing he'd bust out here and there to try to get the win, but most of the time he'd pull it off with something else.
Plus, with people like him and Angle, they'd go for the submission over and over. Alberto shies away from the armbar entirely until time to win.

The problem with Del Rio isn't his in-ring work (which is fine by WWE standards) it's his character that has become stale and predictable. Let's see; he comes out with a new car and the sparkle rain, smiles and points to himself, Ricardo announces him in some new "original" way and then we get the same boring promo with stuff like "..but you allready knew that.." or "it's my destiny to..". I can't recall one memorable promo or one that has stood out since his debut. Del Rio for now is all talk and no sizzle. The man needs an edge or something that takes the character to the next level. It's worrying that the heat he had in the beginning has died done a lot, partly due to booking but also due to his stagnant character and promowork.

If he DIDN'T work the arm the whole match, we'd be complaining about that. So yeah. I don't see the problem. Damned if he does, Damned if he doesn't.

"My name, my name is Alberto, Del Rrrriiooooooooo! But you, you already know that! I am going to (do something at upcoming show). It is my dessstiny. My opponent is like a (Mexican thing). I have already (past accomplishments). I have (rich guy stuff)!" *winks* Honestly, I'd probably hate del Rio a little less if every other word out of his mouth wasn't, "Destiny." Okay, let's take this for a spin. "My name, my name is Alberto, Del Rrrriiooooooooo! But you, you already know that! I am going to (do something at upcoming show). It is my dennnnsity. My opponent is like a (Mexican thing). I have already (past accomplishments). I have (rich guy stuff)!" *winks* MUCH better, yes?
