How come no one really made a big deal out of this like they did when Luger or Ahmed slammed him? And for those of you wondering, the match was a double count out, both men were hurt and rolled outside and were like "Ow my back".

Probably cause Luger and Ahmed were smaller than Mabel. Mabel had size on his size there.
Did anyone slam Yoko before he was Yoko? Like in the AWA or something?

To be fair, Yoko wasn't always as big as he was when he came to the WWF. In AWA, he was actually probably Umaga-sized.

Speaking of that era-Mable, watching it now, how surprising was the pop for his confrontation at the '95 Rumble with King Kong Bundy? You would think that would be a no-brainer booking for Mania XI.

Mabel had a lot going for him, I thought the heel turn ruined his career, although it would crown him king

Was it a Coliseum Video match? Yes. Well, there's your answer as to why it wasn't a big deal. Luger's bodyslam was the start to a big SummerSlam main event. Johnson's bodyslam was his big RAW debut moment. Mabel's was...stuck on a random home video.

All they did was tackle each other oversold each others' strike and ended in a double count out.

I still can't believe they had a KOTR with Michaels and 'Taker in it and got rid of both of them in the first PPV round.

Mabel was like a foot taller than Yoko and probably within 50-60 lbs of him. It's more astounding to see Evan Bourne bodyslam Batista than see Cena do it.

Good points made here, I'd add the whole mystique of slamming Yokozuna had gone as soon it had happened once.

I heard Mabel was so big MOM accidently won the tag titles after he got KOd and fell onto Pierre and Pierre couldn't get him off.
