I'm really glad I bought this show. I haven't watched a TNA ppv since before Hogan arrived, but this is what I want to see. Less BS and more wrestling.

Best TNA PPV in a while, but still rather lackluster for me.
Also, Jack Evans should never be allowed near a microphone.

Favorite moment of the show: Curry Man saying he had a match in Tokyo against Cody Deaner for the FIRED Championship

I know people on here are talking about these epic AJ/Daniels matches from the past, but what are these? I know the 3 ways with Joe involved were great stuff, but I don't recall being amazed by these two guys 1 on 1. I tend to think they are both better off being given 15 minutes and told to rock the house rather than half an hour.
The 4 way was amusing junk food wrestling. As in a lot of fun flippy flop stuff and some wacky comedy tossed in, but probably nothing I'll remember in a week.
Watching RVD/Lynn made me consider that initial series and how it influenced the X Division. After seeing it tonight, I don't think those matches did as much as they would like to note. First off, most of those matches told some sort of story (as unconventional as it sounds), with guys hitting really violent big spots in an attempt to incapacitate the other man. There was--and still is--a legit malicious vibe to those matches compared to the typical X Division ballet spotfest. That match tonight, while obviously a step slower than the 1999 era matches, felt like a serious pro wrestling contest between two grown men fighting to be the better man. The irony is that the Styles/Daniels match was the one with that story in theory, but as much as the announcers put it over I just never felt like those two guys wrestled with any serious passion to prove to the other who was better. Just a lot of slow paced action with armbars.

Come to think of it...Curry could've defended his Fired Championship against Sheik Abdul Bashir tonight.
Maybe next year...

Great Show!
Other than Williams/Haskins, the Tag Match & the X Title match(which were decent), the other 5 matches were good-great, with the 4 way match stealing the show.

I enjoyed this PPV quite a bit. Definitely TNA's best output on PPV in a long time.
The contract match was the match of the night, but I felt just about every other match was good. I was a bit bored with RVD vs Lynn which id never thought Id say, but when TNA gives the ball to their guys, it works. I also was impressed with Mark Hawkins, but I felt the way they intro'd him was terrible, as was the faux fur and sunglasses look. I dont feel a complete unknown (to a lot of the audience at least) works well as a mystery opponent character. I really HATED the ending to Kaz/Joe. It didn't fit with the match and while it serves its purpose, there were other ways to get there. I liked that there was very little overbooking and when they did do it (X Division vs Immortal) it worked.
Not a bad show. I wouldnt say its worth going out of the way for, but it sets a bar for Money in the Bank next week.

I tend to think they are both better off being given 15 minutes and told to rock the house rather than half an hour. They had two different 30 Minute Iron Man matches in 05 that tore the roof down. They also clashed in the last PPV of 2009 in a show stealer.

What exactly was good about that fatal 4 way match? It just seemed to me like a stunt show. Multi-man matches are usually quite a difficult place to tell a story anyway but this was simply a spotfest. It felt like one of those action movies with long drawn out high octane fight scenes and big special effects, but very little underneath. I believe there to be a very big difference between a good stuntman and a good professional wrestler. That match was soulless. And the wrestlers barely sold anything.

What I liked about it was the fact that it was a crazy, high-speed brawl. Not the best type of match all the time, but every now and then it's nice to just see people go nuts. And the triple-dropkick spot I laughed at.

I agree with you, I'm not a fan of those type of matches that are essentially a clustersmurf of spots. That said, they can be fun when not overdone. If they had one on every show it would get old really fast. That was actually one of my problems with the PPV, I personally like more variety, and on this show after so many dives, flips, and highspots in virtually every match I found myself becoming bored. Still a pretty good show though.
