It should be someone that is versatile (combo of mic/ring/character playing) and has a reasonable chance to become a desperately needed fresh face in the rather lackluster main event.
Either Roode, Pope, or Storm would be the best picks. I could maybe see a case for Morgan. No one else would be as positive at this particular moment, for varying reasons.

Joe needs it the most.
But wouldn't be a surprise if it was Storm? Boom never see it coming.

This whole thing is a joke. I'd say Pope, Joe, or AJ... I went with Pope.

AJ and Roode are my top 2 choices.
But if you make me choose between the 2, I'll go with Roode. Just to see him win the TNA Title.

I want it to be AJ, but more importantly I want the No Surrender 4-Way to be:
Samoa Joe v AJ Styles v The Pope v Bobby Roode.
If that happens I'll be extremely happy. Unfortunately it's not going to.

I'd picked Matt Morgan. A tournament could build him like the monster he should be and fire him to main event heights he hasn't reached before.
My second choice would be Pope, but they need to turn his character around.

Who I WANT to win? Either Morgan or Roode. I think the shoulder injury angle is a good "overcome the odds" moment if Roode ends up in the finals, but I don't think they are ready to push him that hard yet. Might be a situation where his injury causes BM to lose the tag titles and maybe a split with Storm turning heel. Samoa Joe would actually be interesting though since it would take a huge comeback and he might go on to face Angle, which has a ton of possibilities given their history. But I don't think they view Joe that highly.
Who I think will win? My money was on Morgan when this whole thing started and I'm sticking to it. He has been protected when doing jobs, been hyping up the championship chase in all of his promos, and seems like a guy that the company can get behind (size, look, etc). Gunner and Crimson are too green/new. They just gave away RVD/Angle for free not too long ago so I don't think that is something they view very highly (RVD/Sting has been done to death). Only other guy who makes sense is Bully Ray, especially since the event is in Philly (ECW territory), but i can't see them making this tournament to put over a vet heel. I think the winner will win the title and be a babyface (though you never know with Russo).

I voted for RVD. Let's not discount the Philly aspect of this PPV. I know Sting/RVD has been done to death but for whatever reason I think Sting jobs to Angle and goes off and does whatever with Hogan at BFG. So we need a solid opponent for Angle at the biggest PPV of the year. Frankly, TNA botched RVD/Angle massively last year so they have a chance to redo it and get it mostly right.
There are ways for guys to get over in this tourney without actually winning it. Morgan can get to the final 4 at No Surrender. Crimson can go far but doesn't have to win this thing.
The only real negative about RVD winning is that he's had several chances at the belt this year and has come up short. It's a tricky booking situation really. Either TNA has the most obvious guy on earth win the series or they can pull the trigger on a questionable guy and the Philly crowd might turn on the match.

Angle going through the top 10 to get to RVD at last year's BFG was the logical main event. They went a different direction. I think the ship has sailed on that, especially since they gave the match away as if it was nothing a few weeks ago. I mean, I could see RVD winning it and going with RVD/Angle in a big stage if they don't have faith in anyone else main eventing with Angle (who I also think will win the title from Sting), but the time to pull the trigger on that was 10-10-10. RVD has fallen off since then.

I voted Roode, but I have no faith in TNA to go that route. I'm thinking Crimson wins it, as he has a phantom undefeated streak going with no end in sight.

Or Roode, who would go on to wrestle Angle at BFG.

Honestly I think it needs to be someone out of left field. Obviously having someone like Pope suddenly start coming back by this point would be... kind of absurd. Maybe someone like James Storm.
I'm thinking a final four of Storm, Roode, Crimson, and Styles could be interesting. Enough people in to protect Crimson if they really intend on pushing the guy this hard and three good workers that could put on a hell of a match together. Maybe with Storm pinning Roode via roll up.

Pope. But since TNA can't use obvious talent when it falls in their hands, it'll probably be the Goldberg knock off who wins it.

^Yeah man they killed Pope's heat pretty effectively and I still am baffled on why. The guys got huge ovations (in the Impact Zone) but still. He was magic for about a month. He got hurt and they did nothing to keep his heat going while he was gone. didn't even mention his name. WWF saw Austin get seriously injured and didn't know if he'd ever even be able to come back but still kept him on TV to keep him hot. Hell they incorperated it into his story and motivation. When he came back he was even bigger than when he left. Pope could have had the same treatment(I believe anyway)
I pull for Rhoode. I liked him and believed in him when he was right out of team canada's disolution and nobody was behind him. They called him a poor man's Ted Debiase. I stood by him then and I stand by him now. He deserves the push and he is so well rounded now that he can pull off an upper card semi-main event position and eventually I think he could be a WHC contender if used correctly
