Cesar Gracie told MMAFighting.com. "I know [Nick Diaz] was mad when he was told Braulio would not make weight last night. No one has seen him today. Braulio ended up making weight this morning."

Whats worse is this PPV was supposed to be a charity event.
Also Big Nog will be appearing on the forth coming season of the Brazilian version of Dancing with the Stars.
Also looks like Bob Sapp took another dive...

Mark Hunt has suffered an injury and has pulled out of his fight against Stefan Struve, Lavar Johnson has called in as his replacement.
While its bummer about Hunt I reckon its a winnable fight for either Johnson or Struve.

Too bad. I was wondering what kind of freakish contortion was going to occur after Struve was KO'd by Hunt.
Although Johnson/Struve is interesting too, I suppose.

Anyone else watch Strikeforce tonight? Daniel Cormier won the Strikeforce HWGP with a great performance against Josh Barnett. Barnett had a couple of moments but for the most part Cormier picked him apart on the feet and ground.
Melendez/Thompson was a great fight too, gonna have to watch those first three rounds again to really get my opinion on the decision. Melendez won a split in a very close fight.

I knew Cormier would win, he's just a much better all-around fighther than Barnett.
I think I agree with the decision in the Melendez/Thomas fight but I will have to look back and see for sure as well. It was an absolute war though, just like it always has been with those two.

I recall giving Melendez rounds 2 and 3 and Thomson 4 and 5. The first round was sooooo close that to be honest I didn't have a problem with the result because Strikeforce's 155 division is so thin, they can have these two go for another 5 rounds in a few months.
When the odds came out for the HW Grand Prix last January, I wonder if there were odds on the table for Cormier or any HW alternate. Because that would have been some serious money right there.
Once again, the HW division in Strikeforce is non-existent. It would have been kinda interesting to see the winner of this face the Mir-JDS winner. I know a lot of people would scoff at that, but now that Overeem is out until '13 and I don't think Cain is gonna be put right back in the number one contender spot, I don't think it's THAT crazy.
And one last thing, I'm not sure if it would be considered an upset, but I got Barao beating Faber in July.

I look forward to Gil's next title defense when he fights Josh Thompson again because Strikeforce got nobody else. At least those two always put on a show.
Well...maybe KJ. I guess. It's not like anyone cares anyway. None of the UFC guys are gonna agree to go over for a title shot so they'll have to make due.

I just don't get why Strikeforce still exists. Once Zuffa purchased it, everyone and their mother knew all the top guys were going over to the UFC. It's like the WEC and Pride all over again. Just merge them already. Lord knows how thin some of these upcoming UFC cards are.

Yeah, I see Gil probably fighting(And finishing) KJ Noons and then being called up to fight in the UFC's Lightweight division. Making that division even more stacked than it already is.

I actually feel a little bad for Gilbert. He's pretty much cleaned out his division, and he's stuck in Strikeforce. Just let him come up to the UFC already.

Well they did offer him a fight with BJ but BJ turned it down because of his retirement. That would have been a fun fight to see, not sure where it would have taken place though.

So, if what I'm reading is right, Sonnen essentially got a "free cheat" card from the commission?

The NSAC also gave Nick Diaz a year suspension and he's fined 30% of his UFC 143 purse.

The NSAC also gave Nick Diaz a year suspension and he's fined 30% of his UFC 143 purse. Someone on Twitter did the math and it came out to be $60,000.
