So far i'm really not feeling it. It has been so badly booked there's no way they're gonna have Hardy win this. The guy did not even talk on the mic for the big sell.
You could tell when Roode was about to meet AJ there was real heat there. But with Roode and Hardy, it feels thrown together at the last minute. Hardy is first contender, Roode beats his friend, Hardy makes the save. That's where we're at. We never even have a time for Roode to crap about Hardy on the mice. It's like there's no heat.
Why is that I wonder? Is it because people don't hate Roode enough or maybe they don't like Hardy enough or both are just boring? One thing is for sure, when AJ came from the entry way for his tag match, I thought "now this is a babyface". Because we instinctively like AJ. While Hardy is pushed as a face because management have decided to.
Another thing is that after a few good weeks back-to-back the booking of Roode has been lacking as of late. I mean there has to be a shortage of family members he can talk down to. It's become comical. We don't hate the guy for this anyway. Just use the old JJ/Bully Ray method and just bad mouth opponants to oblivion. Roode should do to his opponants what JJ and Karen did to Traci and Kaz, just humiliate the Hell out of them till the fans can't stand it and want the heel to get his ass kicked. That's how you create heat.

I think a big problem Is we simpatise with what Roode is saying.
Sting IS playing favorites and helping out Hardy into an undeserved contender spot(he won a match against JJ, big woop!). Why not Bully, why not Angle?
Hardy was an embarrassment and highly damaging to the company, Roode does give a better image.
Being selfish and a cheater is the way to achieve goals in TNA, after all the f***ing company never seems to do anything to cheaters anyway, he tried the right way and the retard ref didnt see Kurt use the ropes as leverage or that Roode got his hand under them despite being right there in his line of vision.

I'm not really a fan of it because of Hardy.
Instead of having him working his way up the card, and prove that he's reliable, TNA strapped a rocket to him and launched him back up. Less than a year after the Victory Road incident, they're giving him a World Title shot. And it's not his 2nd chance, he's way past his 2nd chance.

If TNA is smart they are going to have Roode vs. Storm (for the title) at Lockdown and Hardy is just a transitional contender for Roode in the meantime.
The time to push Hardy as the top face was 2010 when he had a ton of momentum coming off his WWE run. They gave the run to RVD instead. Now it is too late, IMO.

I'm hoping, and I mean with all fingers and toes crossed, that this is just a way to cement Roode as THE heel champion by beating the crap out of their most popular face. Like it or not, Hardy is mad over. But it's just as likely that they'll stretch it out and have Hardy "redeem himself" at Victory Road this year. Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants.
But yeah. They don't have any chemistry together and most of us think Roode is right.

I still don't understand why Jeff Hardy is a face at all. it keeps going back to what CM Punk said about him when he was in WWE. Jeff Hardy lacks any kind of sympathetic qualities, blows every shot he gets and has yet to make us think otherwise.

I think a big problem Is we simpatise with what Roode is saying..... Bingo, at this point nobody cares about Jeff Hardy babyface hero. Hardy has burned far too many bridges with the fans, for us to give a crap about his 'redemption' storyline. Honestly at this point the whole arch seems forced, and the timing ill conceived.

Run of the mill 1-month World Title feud, with the extra addition of it being Hardy's redemption. Roode being a heel, Hardy being a face, theres really not much storyline to it.

I agree about the bad booking. Why is TNA sacrificing Roode's heel credibility for Hardy?
Hardy's "road to redemption" should have been a secondary storyline. Starting from the very bottom would have been beneficial for Hardy. In my opinion, this would have gave fans time to fully forgive Hardy and start taking both Hardy and TNA's booking more seriously.

I don't like it. I feel like they used AJ's heat to build up Hardy, when it should have been a slow burn progression for Hardy to do anything--for storyline reasons and practical reasons as well.
Exactly. THIS THIS THIS.
It's sloppy and rushed.

Roode/Sting is clearly going to happen sooner rather than later

If it's got Jeff Hardy, it's bound to be an entirely one-sided feud in terms of storyline. The guy brings nothing to table promo-wise, and when he does talk it's nearly impossible to feel sorry for him.

I just want Jeff to get out of the title picture. He doesn't need the belt, nor does he deserve it.
