He is and always will be my favorite TNA wrestler. Why?
He won me over by reminding me of WCW Jericho and Saturn somehow..
And after Jay Lethal left Eric Young was my last great hope for TNA

I'm not the biggest fan of his current character but I have loved pretty much every thing else the guy has done. The fact that he is able to make all of these insane gimmicks that TNA gives him work really is a credit to his talent.

I thought his paranoid "Dont Fire Me" gimmick was pretty annoying. Aside from that though, Ive always enjoyed him. He's not someone I necessarily look forward to, but I enjoy him when hes on the screen. I think his stuff over the last few months has been hilarious.

Whether you like his wrestling or whatever persona they've given him this week, EY is a very clever man with a sharp mind for the business. He knows when to play it for laughs, and knows how and when to take the storylines seriously.
If an angle is so silly that the fans will roll their eyes at it, give it to EY and he will be so distracting that they don't care about the story, just about crazy, loveable Eric. Yet as World Elite showed, the guy could be called in to do serious if needed. But for a quirk, I could actually see EY in the position and role that Bully Ray currently occupies.

I like how he ties-up with everybody now.
Wonder if they ever heelturn him again. He takes whatever they give him and makes it work.

I agree that EY is talented and has worked hard to get over. He's a valuable part of TNA. But to suggest he's the last great hope for the promotion, which has Bobby Roode, James Storm, AJ Styles, and Matt Morgan among a number of other homegrown stars on the roster, as well as imports like Kurt Angle, Sting, Jeff Hardy, Jeff Jarrett, etc., is a gross overstatement.
EY can be a solid, reliable "character actor" but can you really ever see him as a consistent Main Event guy?

Outside of one of the worst feuds in wrestling in the last decade with Roode, he's been usually a good asset for TNA/IW, and one of the people who I think of when I think of the company.

I used to really hate his comedy characters, but I've softened on that a bit as he usually does have a funny one liner or two.
That said, serious World Elite Eric was my favorite version of him. I thought he played that role well.

I think he's a talented wrestler, as the World Elite era and early days of Team Canada showed, but I usually hate his gimmicks and the storylines that he is a part of. It's the type of stuff that makes me a little embarassed to be a wrestling fan when someone else is inthe room.

I love Eric Young, I've been a fan of wrestling since 1991, the imports although are great wrestlers, I've grown weary of them. I've seen this guys wrestle hundreds of times. As for the TNA home grown stars.. I dig Robert Roode, but I don't love him like I love EY Just my Opinion

TNA dropped the ball on him big time. he was really interesting as the leader of the World Elite when he was tired of being thought of as a joke, they could've built the midcard around him but when Sleazy-E took over there went that idea and he went back to being the annoying simpleton that was played out years ago... that was a real run-on sentence.

I thought he was pretty funny, but I have grown incredibly tired of seeing his segments and matches as of late.

EY works his ass off taking the crap they give him and making it watchable. Really a testament to the man's talent that he can do that as well as he does.
