You know, I didn't mind so much as first, but when Hoak Hoagan trotted out there at the end, I strangled the little Hulkamaniac in me.

In retrospect, it was good for a nice pop but it really did no favors for Bret and Yoko.
And that's where the issue comes in.

I actually did enjoy some of the undercard. That Headshrinkers/Steiners match was pretty good.

Does this have the Doink/Crush match? Caused I loved that. It did. and I really think that this is where my fear of clowns started. Pennywise vs Doink. Book it!

Am I the only one who has seen the fan fight and people getting escorted out during this PPV?
I do not remember the match, Im thinking Doink or another early-mid match, there is a fan fight across from the hard camera in the upper section. Then it goes back to just the wrestlers, then they zoom out and one guy is fighting with security as they drag him out.

I didn't see a fan fight. I did see one guy flip off Giant Gonzales.
I also saw a security guard (they seemed to be dressed like State Troopers for some odd reason) take a hat from a kid's head, muss up his hair, then jam it back on.

I loved this event, wore that tape out growing up. Best part of the whole ppv is hogan and beefcake beating the hell out of dibiase and I.R.S while real american is blaring in the background. Always gives me goosebumps...I miss childhood...

WMIX is better than it's reputation, largely due to revisionist history (and in retrospect seemingly everyone hating Hogan winning the title). It could have been worse and you could have watched XI.

I liked WMIX and popped like crazy when Hogan won the title.

I loved it at the time. Now, I mainly like it for the whole theme and atmosphere.
It's still my favorite looking Wrestlemania.

This is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. It's definitely one of the most distinct-looking WWE events ever and is immediately recognizable to most wrestling fans. Aside from the awful ending and the train wreck of a Giant Gonzalez match, there's nothing that bad about this card. Shawn Michaels vs. Tatanka and Steiners vs. Head Shrinkers are both very good matches, although Tatanka should have won the belt here for sure.

I'm wondering if I should make this Mehe Watches... a semi regular feature.
My partner and I have been talking about starting a podcast where we drunkenly take on random ppv shows and record our running commentary.

This is around the time I was losing interest in the WWF (post WM 8 really was the beginning of the end, IMO, until the late-90's). The only reason the event is memorable at all is due to the Hogan win at the end. If it wasn't for the internet and Hogan winning the belt I wouldn't remember anything else from the card. Not necessarily a bad show, but not memorable at all. WM 11 was definitely worse though.

That and the matches seem rather gimmicky. And where, o WHERE! Is my Bam Bam Bigelow-Kamala match? It never came, it never came.
