When I think of WrestleMania themes, I am constantly reminded of this theme that I oh so dearly miss: NO wwe owned themes, footage etc from a none wwe owned source.

What bullcrap. Another WrestleMania, another crappy rap song that has NOTHING related to wrestling smh. They should've used Fight Like This By Decyfer Down or Turn It On By Default. Anything but that. So because its a rap song it's a bad theme? I think the hook fits, maybe not the rest of the song tho. Y'know you guys on the post that have this "wrestling themes should be rock only" mentality have a screw loose or something. Hip-hop is mainstream and like it or not, catchy. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news to you. Besides most of the rock that you named here wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable either. UGH. I can't stand closed minded people. Next you classics will complain about how you miss the "In Your House" PPVs. I like some rap, but mostly just 80's stuff like Run DMC, NWA, and some early 90's Dre, Snoop, Tupac, and Bone Thugs. Most of today's rap just isn't my cup of tea, and yes in my opinion a lot of it's horrible. The same goes for country and emo rock. Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. And just because we disagree when it comes to musical tastes, that's no reason to throw insults around. And some of the In Your House PPVs were quite good. Like Mindgames and Canadian Stampede, for example.

ugh, this song stinks for mania. I don't really like this genre but I could at least admit that "I Made It" and "Written In The Stars" fit well with mania. this i don't get Add the fact that I hear it 70 times a day on tv commercials, and you got a thumbs down from me.

I wish H.A.M by Kanye and Jay Z didn't have such a non-PG meaning behind it's acronym, because that is an EPIC song to use.
Man, I remember being on forums back in the day (okay, like, 2008) when people were actually clamoring for them to use a rap theme for 'Mania (at the time, "Superstar" by Lupe Fiasco was the one I liked the idea of the most). Of course that was also at the time when their rock themes were at an all-time low to the point where "new" rock was so dire ("Light it Up" for 24) that they had to use AC/DC for 25 and "Be Yourself" for 26 when Audioslave had been broken up for 4 years at that point (and the song was actually 5 years old).
I like when they throw a curveball and use Kasabian/Hives/Pendulum type bands, rock music that's still mainstream and radio-ready but isn't complete and utter crap like Nickleback or Staind or something.
For a rock theme (not for 'Mania but for a PPV) I wish that they'd use f***ed Up, a band breaking huge popularity right now but who's name and the fact that they're a hardcore punk band (albeit a somewhat polished and accessible one, and more rock n' roll oriented), prevent WWE from using them. They're underground enough to be cool, and Damien, the singer, is a HUGE wrestling fan. But for WWE to use a band like that would be a HUGE step forward.
They never even use bands that ARE famous and half-way decent like the Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam or Queens of the Stone Age. The Chili Peppers for 24 were the only time. s***, at least Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock and Creed were popular when they were used for themes.
On the rap side, it'd be dope if they got Lil' Wayne to custom make a theme for a WM, as he'd probably do it, being prolific, insane, and a big fan. Then he could perform it. Most people here probably don't like Wayne (which makes sense since he's not all that great anymore) but he'd put some effort into it. It would still be mainstream pop-rap (like this) but again, you're not gonna have Gang Starr or something doing the theme.
I DO wonder when they're actually gonna start using Dubstep though. It's gonna be crazy to have a wrestler with a Dubstep theme (although that might be kinda epic...the big buildup to the "WOMP WOMP WOMP" drop accompanied by fireworks...it'd basically be like Batista's theme, which makes sense as Dubstep has essentially become the cock rock of the electronic music world)

They should use something from the new megadeth or anthrax albums. Something like Fight Em Till You Cant or Black Swan.

I don't mind rap, but that song is crap. They should get something that has that "epic" feel. Speaking of which, they should have used Epic by Faith No More at some point. The whole "You want it all but you can't have it" would have been good for a title match or something.

The day they use a Jedi Mind Tricks song will the the day I'll lose my shit... mentally and monetarily! I will give WWE all my money for whatever they're promoting! Hell, just let Jim Johnston retire and let Stoupe take over music production and you will have the most epic video packages EVER!

I'm loving the rap hate in this thread. Better this than some s*** Downstait/nu-Metal theme. What's best is that some of the alternatives are arguably more bland and unmemorable than the song they picked. If we're talking about Downstait,I'd gladly prefer I Came To Play to ANY rap song.

Hell, someone find Paul McCartney and have him play "Live and Let Die" or something... That would be awesome. Even though I'm generally against live music acts on WWE PPVs, McCartney would be one of the highlights of the show. The image of McCartney on his piano playing "Hey Jude" before a Divas battle royal is f***ing priceless.

I like when they use Rap for the big PPVs.
Wrestlemania, and Summerslam and Survivor Series this year. Maybe because they were all in big cities and kinda upbeat. It fit.

Hmm....it's not the worst certainly. But I preferred Written in the Stars. Was just listening to Living in a Dream, last year's Rumble theme, last night for the first time in ages and remembered how much I loved that and how much it actually got me hyped

I prefer using this type of rap song than the nu-metal that was always used. Gives a much more modern feel. And it's the chorus that will be the main focus - and it's got a very momentous feel to it.

Hell, just let Jim Johnston retire and let Stoupe take over music production and you will have the most epic video packages EVER! Jedi Mind has that power. I mean this song would be a perfect PPV theme. It has that feel. And one of the tracks on that album even features a sampling of a Kane promo, so it goes full-circle.
