I actually liked scrappy doo when I first saw him in the show. What I couldn't stand were the scrappy episodes with yabba doo and some redneck. Why the hell take out shaggy and scooby?

To those who read the writings about Scrappy-Doo, what do you think?

Ok...a bit of backstory, It's an Old West segment that ran as the C-Segment of The Scooby & Scrappy-Doo/Puppy Hour. Only in the Third season and ONLY as the final segment of the 3. It ran for 1 year in 1982 and is frequently edited into "Clip series" formats of Scooby-Doo.

I'm just going to come out of the closet on this then...
I liked Scrappy, still do, and always will.
Scrappy was...well...a scrapper. He was willing to fight and try to kick the monster's/ghost's asses while Scooby and Shaggy pussied out and ran away ALL THE TIME! The only reason he never could was because those two idiots grabbed him and carried him away all the time. I kinda saw Scrappy as a smart dog version of Bam Bam, in a way.
I'm saddened that so many fans hate Scrappy today, as I feel he was the only thing keeping the Scooby shows from being total and utter garbage. You want to look at something stupid that nearly killed the Scooby franchise? Look no further than "A Pup Named Scooby Doo." Just because the Muppets can get away with being "baby-fied" doesn't mean anyone can...and "Pup" was utter shit.

^^^You have hurt me deeply. I love A Pup Named Scooby Doo. I used to wake up at 6 AM to watch it! Loved the music and dancing during the chase sequence. As for Scrappy Doo, I didn't hate him, but I didn't like him either. All I have to say is, " Puppy Power!"

I don't really see why you'd have to wake up at 6 AM to see it though...I remember it kinda being the Phineous and Ferb/Spongebob Squarepants in it's day...on ALL THE FRIGGIN' TIME!

Call me when Scrappy has a 5-star match with "Voice of the Voiceless" Fred Jones and does some outstanding charity work.
Now Flim Flam, he's the "Hornswoggle" of the franchise.

Scrappy was a hell of a lot better than Teen Pebbles and Bam Bam Out of the Unholy Trinity (alongside Jar Jar Binks and Wesley Crusher), Scrappy is the lesser of the three evils. But comparing Scrappy to these two are an insult to Scrappy.

Scooby-Doo was horse shit in every incarnation, so no I don't really blame Scrappy-Doo.
