The last one was a remake too, so I don't really have a problem with that.

Eh, they said they'll be keeping some really vague elements from the first two films for the third so...no big deal right now.

Well, I can't say I think this is necessary, but I'll wait and see until more details emerge.
The important thing to be is if this movie will be different enough; the other two Scarface movies worked because they took a universal basic story of ambition and greed, and applied them to the most relevant crime problems going on at the time (Italian gansters and bootlegging in the 30's, Cuban cocaine lords in the 80's). If this new movie can introduce a similarly different, yet relevant, setting, I might give it a chance.

Scarface(1983) is one of the most overrated movies ever, IMO, so I don't see much point in remaking it.

So unless they are lying and are going the Psycho route, I don't think it should be a big deal aside from obligatory complains about remakes as though they've not been around as long as the movie industry.

And at the end of the day Howard Hawks' Scarface will be vastly superior to both of them. I hope they can continue the trend of the DePalma borefest and make this one like 8 hours long with an even more sluggish narrative structure.

I say we go back in time and get rid of the 1983 version instead.
Think of all the horrible rap it would prevent.

This sounds like they're trying to do what the '80s version did; take the same general concept but apply an original, relevant setting.
I'm not saying I like the idea. I'm not saying it's a bad idea. What I am saying is, they have a very, very, VERY high bar to reach. I'll wait for more details.
At least it's not the rumored "Son of Tony" sequel from a few years ago.

Too soon. They should wait at least 50 years or something.

I like when people get upset at remakes as if someone is forcing them to watch them at gunpoint or something. It's like "Booooooooooooooooooo! They're ruining movies I liked!!!!!". Then don't watch it genius.

I've never seen the other two or really plan to, but with remakes, the only thing that bothers me, or used to realy is "They're getting away with changing something" f*** that. And if they ever redo the Blues Brothers, there will be f***ing hell to pay!

Oh good, a whole new generation of moronic rappers can idiolize Tony Montana via completely missing the point of the movie

Then don't watch it genius. I think it's more a manifestation of "damn, really? Another remake?" and the lamentation of no originality. I love Paccino, he's one of my all time favorite actors, but I can't stand the bizarre obsession with the first 3/4 of the movie. Had a room mate in college who LOVED the movie because "that's how I want to live my life. Money, fame, power" but he failed to understand the overall theme of "nothing lasts forever". So I suppose I have two reasons to not want to see this. It's another rehash, which is all Hollywood does now, and it'll lead to more clueless jackbags who will parrot the lines and misunderstand the point.
