That surely can't be all of their punishment. There has to more punishment coming in the future, right? Right? If not, that's kind of an anti-climatic ending to this story, don't you think? The initial story said over 70 athletes broke NCAA violations, and they only nail 12 of them, and even then, it looks like Miami themselves got off the hook, as it was the players punished, with Miami getting no punishment whatsoever so far. There just has to be more sanctions coming from up high, because it just isn't adding up right now.... Its far from over

There's a LOT more people involved in this, and it's going to get far worse.

Now we'll see if A&M can prove me wrong and not underachieve in the SEC like they did in the Big 12. Maybe the more equal revenue sharing will help them out.

New Rumor out there is that the Big-12 wants Boise State to replace Texas A&M.

New Rumor out there is that the Big-12 wants Boise State to replace Texas A&M. If this rumor is true, Boise State would be stupid to say no to it. They'd be in a BCS automatic bid conference. Sure it won't be as easy as they've been having it the last several years, but still, they won't have to worry about getting screwed over by the BCs.....well at least not as much as they have been screwed previously by the BCS.

Ohio State coach Luke Fickell indicated that senior Joe Bauserman would likely start against Akron on Saturday.

Bama's defense better be as good as they say it is to justify their #2 ranking.
McElroy, Ingram, Julio Jones- not walking through that door.

Boise St to Big 12 rumors: I wished this would have come up last August after realignment Part I. I for one think it'd be great to see them there. Oklahoma would want to get their heat back from the fiesta a few years ago

Mcelroy was a good qb but is more of a game manager than anything. Granted he's extremely intelligent but he can be replaced. Ingram may not be walking through that door but Trent Richardson is and he's every bit as capable as Ingram (if not more). You got me on the Julio Jones thing though.

If the big 12 is goign to survive, I think they have to be careful here. Don't just add teams that are having short term success, you need to add teams that add the most value to your conference. In 5 years from now, maybe Boise will be just as good, but there's no guarantee they will do as well in a more competitive league.
That said, for Boise, this would be a win, easily. Moving from the Mountain West to the Big 12 would be huge.

This would be a good move for Bosie State as well as the Big 12 as they need to start thinking about getting 12 teams again.
I think they could also add SMU and resurrect some great rivalries there.

If the Boise stuff is true you can guarantee some legislators/boosters pushing to get SMU and or Houston into the conference as well.

The Air Force Academy would be a better add than SMU. SMU is a wealthier school, true, but the Big 12 doesn't need another Dallas representative. Air Force gets them back into the Colorado market, and they've shown to be better on average.
If BYU didn't have a great deal as an independent, they'd have been a better pickup as well. The Big 12, if it wants to survive, needs to look at picking up members that expand their market, not just take up spots.
Houston would be better as well, since although it's still Texas, it's a lot bigger Texas market that is more untapped for them.
