As a Bay Area native, we haven't had too many major moments in WWE history, at least compared to MSG, Philly, Chicago, etc. Having this go down in the Cow Palace was really special to me.

One of the most emotional matches I've ever watched and definitely one of my favorites.

Considering that a few years later, there was a huge fiasco at the Cow Palace with regards to a wrestling herritage event. This really was a great match with psychology, but it also makes me feel sad that people pretty much crapped on the Goldberg/Lesnar at WrestleMania 20 because both guys were on the way out. Nonetheless, this was one of the best crowd reactions ever.

Edit: I do have to say looking back on the match though, Cole and Taz do look pretty damn goofy when they're wondering why Goldberg is there and where he came from. Maybe if you two goofs were watching Raw, you'd have seen Stone Cold give Goldberg a ticket to No Way Out. Earlier in the night though they did a different Goldberg segment, and he was escorted out of the arena, hence why they were surprised her re-appeared in the main event.

Guess I'm the goof. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I watched the Raw but was unable to order the PPV so I didn't realize he was escorted out. I figured he jumped the barricade.

Funny thing is you can see half the crowd stand up and look towards the ramp when the ref goes down

One few lines that stick out from Michael Cole that i remember came from that match at the end.
"Eddie Guerrero will no longer be called addict tonight Eddie Guerrero will simply be known as WWE Champion".

This match is one of those moments that makes people proud to be fans. Especially if you've watched Eddie come up in ECW and WCW. That, plus his battle with his massive issues with addiction made this moment one of the best moments in the history of the company. To go from the lowest of low points in life to being WWE champion is something I'll never forget.

I don't want to disrupt respecting Eddie and his title win, but how was Eddie as a draw during his run as champ.

If you watch just about any match at this time, the crowd doesn't have their eyes on the main event near-falls. It was as big of an issue as constantly kicking out of finishers.

Easily one of my top five favorite matches of all time, and I don't just say that out of being a huge Eddie fan. Every part of that storyline clicked.

I don't want to disrupt respecting Eddie and his title win, but how was Eddie as a draw during his run as champ. Eddie's problem wasn't drawing, but the stress associated with being champion. Apparently his title reign was cut short because the stress really got to him. And to think, some of that could have been because of what killed him: heart disease.

When Michael Cole isn't being a douche of an announcer, he really is pretty good. He can definitely add a lot to a title match when he tries. His calls for this match and when Mankind won the belt were awesome.

Can you picture Cena or HHH being "stressed out" because of the pressure of putting on good matches as champion?

Loved this match. I had actually never seen this match until about 2 years ago and by the end of it, I wanted Eddie to win bad. So yeah, really, really, great match.

Great match, but its the special moment and celebration that put it over the top. Probably the happiest I have ever been as a wrestling fan was watching Eddie jump into the crowd after winning the Title.

There's more pressure of being a World Champion in WWE than just putting on good matches. There are also the other commitments involved. You are truly representing the company to the outside world when you are the WWE Champion. That probably wasn't helping Eddie's stress levels either, having that kind of responsiblity on his shoulders.
