Long time lurker who finally made an account... After re-watching this match, the thing that really stood out is how much Michael Cole's commentary has deteriorated over the last few years. This sounded pretty similar to Cole's usual commentary back during his Smackdown days with Tazz. It made me realize that there isn't really a clean cut play-by-play guy anymore on the two main shows.

Good for you Eddie! Good for you! Simple and maybe a little cheesy, but one of my favorite calls of all time. I wish someone at the E would look at this match and see what a mess they've made of Michael Cole. He isn't JR, he isn't Heenan, he isn't Styles and he doesn't need to be. He can be perfectly acceptable, as he was here.

This match is an example - he goes from "Eddie's cheating, dat's not cool man, what da hell?" to "Eddie deserves it!" in about 2 minutes.

Agreed, this match is a forgotten classic, and probably one of Cole's best calls.

IMO this match should have taken place at WMania 20, it would have been better way for lesnar ending his WWE run, than going against Goldberg- in that awful display. Goldberg should have some sort of confrontation with Austin, with Austin giving him the stunner.

Goldberg should have some sort of confrontation with Austin, with Austin giving him the stunner. At this point, they didn't know Lesnar was leaving for good. Lesnar/Goldberg was a money match, and they figured having Brock go over would be the best way to get his heat back.
