Well, Brooke had a match or two, but then nothing. I figured since the division was so busy it was no big deal, but if it's thin now, plug her in there. And M, Anderson cant want the title if he already has it.

Mercer slams Neal down then waits for him to get to his feet. Mercer goes for a boot but Neal ducks it. Spear!

Shatter breaks up the pin. Shatter gestures to Moore and Moore enters the ring but referee Mike Posey holds him back. Shatter takes advantage to make a fake tag while Mercer rolls to the outside. Shatter hits a lariat on Neal. Moore breaks free of the referee only to get one as well. Shatter then hits the PTSD on Moore, driving him into Neal. Shatter then throws Moore aside and covers Neal.

JB: Here are your winners, and STILL TNA World Tag Team Champions, Phil Shatter and Tommy Mercer!
Tenay: Shatter and Mercer dominant in retaining their tag titles. West: I knew they would. Tenay: You’ve got more faces than a clock store. West: Clock store? Who writes your material? Tenay: Nevertheless, let’s go backstage to Jeff Hardy.
Tonight, a new generation will be born. Tonight, I, Jeff Hardy, will not hold back from fulfilling my destiny tonight. Eric Young, Brutus Magnus, tonight you both will be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Tonight, everything gets put on the.line....because if I don’t win.....well lets just hope I win

JB: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is for the TNA Women’s Championship!
JB: Introducing the challenger, from Richmond, Virginia, Mickie James!
JB: And her opponent, accompanied by Lacey Von Erich, from St Mary’s Ontario, Canada, she is the TNA Women’s Champion, Traci Brooks!
Tenay: Well this is a rematch from Genesis where Mickie lost the women’s title. Tonight she has a chance to regain it. West: But Mickie has already lost to Traci twice. Tenay: She lost at Genesis due to interference and at Against All odds she wasn’t even pinned. On a level playing field she may have the edge.

Mickie ducks a clothesline from Traci and hits a Thesz Press. Mickie then sets up for the Mick Kick but Traci ducks it, then hits a clothesline!
1…
2…
Mickie kicks out. Traci slaps the mat in frustration, then look to Lacey. She motions to Lacey to toss her the women’s title but Lacey, of course, doesn’t understand what Traci wants. Traci motions for the title again and Lacey still looks confused. Traci leans through the ropes to yell at Lacey but Mickie rolls her up!
1…
2…
Traci kicks out. Mickie levels Traci with a roundhouse kick, then heads to the second rope to hits the Thesz Press. By this point Lacey has finally gotten Traci’s meaning and tosses the women’s title in the ring. This action distracts both Mickie and referee Jackson James. As he moves to toss the title outside, Traci takes advantage to hit a cheep shot on Mickie and slam her off the turnbuckle. She follows this up with the Brooks and Done!
1…
2…
3!
JB: Here is your winner, and STILL TNA Women’s Champion, Traci Brooks!
Tenay: By hook or by crook Traci retains. West: Well Lacey threw the title in the ring. Eventually. So I bet you’ll call that win tainted. Tenay: Well it certainly seemed on the cheap side. But bottom line Traci Brooks is still Women’s Champion.

We head backstage to a locker room where Eric Young is pacing back and forth with the Legend's Championship in his hand. Bischoff enters.
Hey champ, ready for tonight? Not only facing Magnus again, but Hardy as well. This one should be tough.
Tough? Bischoff, tonight is going to be a war. Magnus pushed me to my limit last month, and Hardy is one of the bests in this industry. And both of them want what I have. But you better believe I'm going to defend this to the death, Eric. No way I'm leaving emptyhanded. I walk in Legend's Champ, I walk out Legend's Champ. Simple as that.
Fair enough. It sounds like pretty well prepared.
Definitely. I understand the magnitude of tonight. I have an interview in a minute or two, but quickly, how that Rosita thing going for you? Got any clues as to who that is?
Very little. After talking with Sorensen, apparently he is dating her, so she wasn't kidding about that power couple thing, but he refuses to tell me who she is. He just said, that I have to find her for myself, just like he did. The only person I can rule out is Christy, because looking through the tapes, apparently Jesse himself questioned her, and discovered her innocence. So that's one down, and a lot to go.
But anyway, the whole thing has peaked my interest. If Sorensen trusts her, then I guess I have no choice. . . but it'd help if I actually knew who she is. Any suggestions?
I have no clue, all the knockouts here are crazy. Being that this one is playing mind games. . . maybe Daffney or Winter.
Is that an actual suspicion? Or just blind guessing?
Random guessing. But its early, I'm sure she'll drop a hint or two.
Hopefully. Well, standing here talking is getting me nowhere fast. I just wanted to drop in, and wish you luck tonight. There going to give quite a fight, but I have full confidence that you'll find a way to escape as champ.
Bischoff goes to leave.
Oh, and Hemme is waiting outside for an interview. Want me to send her in?
Young nods, and Bischoff exits, and lets Christy in with her own cameraman.
We switch perspectives to that cameraman as Christy begins.
We are moments away from the Legend's Championship match, and I am dying to hear what my guest, the champ, Eric Young, has to say regarding his opponents. EY, the floor is yours.
Well, thanks Christy.
First off, let me go on record and state I have a massive amount of respect for my opponents tonight.
I'll start with Jeff. Jeff was a pioneer of the tag team division up north. He's etched his name up north as the top high flyer. As the dare devil. The man that would put himself through massive pain just to hurt his opponent. Here in TNA, very little has changed. Jeff will still go to any length to win. He's still incredibly speedy and acrobatic. The only difference is now he's a bit more wiser. And a lot more experienced. And that makes him a dangerous opponent.
And don't get me started on Magnus, because I'd hate to give him an even bigger ego. But like it or not, he consistently backs it up in the ring. He'll call you a wanker, and then kick your ass in the middle of the ring like you were nothing but a joke. That's how he earned the Feast or Fired Tag Championship briefcase. That's how he earned the TNA World Championship. No one just rolled over, and let him win, he went out there and found ways to leave victorious. And being able to talk the talk and walk the walk is a dangerous combination, and I'd say, he's probably the best at doing that in this entire company. I definitely was prepared at Against All Odds, and he still came within a second of victory. And after barely surviving the challenge last month, I'm 1000% guaranteed that Magnus is pissed. Not only pissed, but planning on coming back even stronger than last time.
So tonight is not going to be a fun night. I'm clearly up for quite a challenge with both of these men.
But Christy, do me a favor. Look me in the eyes. Do you see fear?
Eric gets eye to eye with Hemme.
No, I don't.
No trepidation? No nervousness?
No.
Exactly. You see confidence. Because despite them bringing their A game, I'm bringing my A+ Game. And even though they plan to do whatever it takes to become champ, I'm telling the world now, they should've done more. Because after my battle with Hogan and Bischoff's crew, my feud with Shatter, my brawls with Dreamer, I can say that I've been through hell and back. I'm the man that Satan calls "Sir". And after all of that. . . I've finally accomplished something. Tell me Christy, what is the name on the title plate here.
Young brings the Legend's Championship close to Christy.
It says "Eric Young".
Damn straight it does.
And I'm a fighting champ, and I'm loving the competition. If I had to choose between facing Hardy and Magnus, or two rookies, I'd pick Jeff and Brutus every single time. I live for the challenge. When those competitive juices start flowing, and that bell rings, there is no feeling like it. People keep calling tonight the toughest challenge yet in my reign. Well, thats the same thing they said last defense, and the one before. The difficulty keeps increasing, and I am showing no signs of stopping any time soon. I'm not just content with my current title reign, I want to be the best Legend's Champion ever. And my victory tonight is gonna prove that I am to a lot of people.
I'm telling the world that this is my greatest opportunity since becoming champ. I defeated Magnus once, and several people wrote it off as a fluke. I had Hardy beat on Impact, but due to interference, we'll never know how that match would've actually ended. Tonight, there will be no wiggle room. I go out there and I defeat both of them again, and I prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the kid is here to stay. That I am no transitional, or even average, champ. That I am legendary.
I definitely agree that a win tonight could cement your reign as one of the best, if not the best, runs in a long time with the Legend's championship. But whats your actual plan in the ring tonight?
Well, it isn't exactly rocket science, but it will be decently tricky. Hardy is a high flyer, so the best way to beat him is to keep him on the ground. If I can take away his legs, I can do a lot of damage. I can stop him from running attacks. Diving attacks. The works. Of course thats a lot easier said then done, but I just have to be smart. Keep the match on my tempo, and if I catch him looking at Magnus, take him down with a chop block or two. Hell, I'm thinking of possibly even busting out a figure four leg lock to wear down on him.
Magnus is more tricky. He's definitely an all arounder, no clear weaknesses. The way I beat him last time was pure determination, and slowly wearing him down, and thats probably the only way possible to beat him. Although, thankfully, this is where Hardy might be able to help. Me and him both want to win, but we have no real problem with each other. While Magnus' ego rubs a lot of people the wrong way. And knowing Magnus, when he talks before the match, he is going to say something to piss me off, and something to piss Jeff off. Me and Jeff, we both wear our emotions on our sleeve, and I think that is all it'll take to get Hardy to team up with me a bit to taking down the cocky guy from King's Lynn. If me and Jeff can get on the same page, which I honestly believe we can, taking down Magnus will be easier than at Against All Odds, even though he'll be more focused than that time.
But even if we can't work together, I'll find a way. Target a body part, probably the head and back. And go to town. Repeatedly attack until Magnus is begging for me to quit. I want people disgusted with my violence. I want kids crying, women shrieking, the works. If Magnus isn't bleeding by the end of the night, I can guarantee that he'll be pretty damn close.
So my strategy is set. Team with Hardy until Magnus is nearly knocked out. Then when its down to me and Jeff as the healthy ones, taking him out by the legs, and wrestle my kind of match. And if all else fails, be as malicious as possible. Take them out of the match. All of that, and of course, break up any pins or submissions that I see. I'm not losing this belt, but I'll be damned if I lose it, and am not even the one to actually get beat.
Well, obviously that's a big part of the triple threat aspect. As champ, you could lose without being involved in the decision.
Yes, I very well could. That's why its up to me to guarantee that won't happen. Its instinctive for me to get my shoulder up, or reach for a rope whether I'm fully conscious or not. Well, I'm going to be use those same instincts tonight for any other pins or submissions. If I'm down, whether inside or outside the ring, and I hear the ref's hand hitting the mat, you better believe I'm getting up. You better believe I'm breaking it up. You better believe that I'm not letting Magnus or Hardy escape with my championship.
I've worked hard for this. Damn hard. And I'm not willing to give it up.
I want this reign to go down as the greatest one in TNA history, and I'm close to going down as the longest.
I survived the "2nd month defense" where out of the 16 former champs, 11 had already lost the belt. Nearly 75%! And now its down to the select few. Shawn Daivari, Bobby Lashley, Sting, Anderson, and Tommy "Crimson" Mercer. These were the only ones who were able to make it to a third month as champ. Some pretty important names. Sting, my mentor, and former TNA World champ. Anderson, current TNA World champ. And none of them made it past 4. So if I can do that, "accomplish the impossible", it proves that I can hang with the big boys. That I've slowly become a hidden gem here in TNA, and throughout my time here I've found a way to develop some top star talent. Each of the 5 men I listed brought their own unique talents that kept them on top of the division. Some like Mercer and Lashley used strength. Daivari used speed. Sting and Anderson used their brains, and their experience.
Me, I bring something new. I use strength, sure. I use my speed, of course. I use my brains by scouting out my opponent, and use every experience I've ever had to its full potential. But what I have, that's different. . . is heart. I said it last month, and I'll say it again. I leave it all in the ring. Always have, always will. That's just my style. That's my true power. Because I never quit. I never give up, and won't back down from any fight. I'm not afraid for tonight's match.
Is it going to be tough? Duh. Both these men are going to want to take my gold and tear me apart.
Am I probably going to bleed? Again, the answer is yes. You can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs. And if my omelette is another successful title defense, its worth all the blood in my body.
But am I afraid of losing my championship? No. When I go all out, nobody can keep at my level, and I train specifically to guarantee that. I will do whatever it takes to keep this gold, and if that means I feel some pain for the next week, or hell, if I can't walk right ever again, I don't give a damn. Bound For Glory is my obvious end goal, but don't let anyone say I'm looking ahead. I am focused on the task at hand. And however daunting it may be, I'm ready to overcome it. I somehow found away to barely escape with my title last ppv. That doesn't happen tonight. I was fully prepared for Magnus. . . and it was just enough. Tonight, I don't squeak away with a victory. I dominate. I leave Brutus and Jeff lying on the mat, as I hold up my Legend's Championship for the world to see. I am a top star here, and tonight I'm ready to prove it!
Magnus and Hardy are ready for a war, well I'm ready for Armageddon.
There's that thing I say, where once the bell rings, whether I like my opponent or not, they become my enemy. And as my enemy, I do whatever it takes to bring them down. Well, tonight, I have my sights set on Jeff and Brutus, and I'm planning on bringing the destruction. So I hope you two are ready. . . because I'm giving you both the toughest fight of either of your careers.
That was Eric Young, clearly ready for his title defense in a few...
One sec. Let me talk to the camera. Or more importantly, some of the people watching through it.
Magnus! Hardy!
I can't promise I will leave tonight under my own power, but I guarantee that if I need to be stretchered to the hospital, that this title...
Eric holds up the Legend's Championship.
...will be coming for the trip with me. Beat me down, leave me bloody. Hit me with a twist of fate. The Tormentum. A swanton bomb. I don't care. I'll find a way to kick out of it. I'll find a way to get back up. I'll dig deep down and muster up the strength to not just get back to my feet, but to come back swinging.
I am ready for this brawl, and I am willing to throw the kitchen sink at you both to win. I already mentioned the figure four leg lock. That's just scratching the surface. I'll steal from Muta's moveset, Arn Anderson, Samoa Joe, Disco Inferno, ANYBODY! I'll put out every trick in the book, and write a whole new one. Tonight is my night, and nothing can change that.
And for my doubters. Just watch. Get your popcorn, sit back, and enjoy. Because your favorite whipping boy will be getting whipped worse than a government mule out there. But don't let that smile grow too big. Because I'm gonna piss you off tonight. I'm going to find a way to keep proving you all wrong. I'm going leave tonight still Legend's Champion, and show the world once again that I am on my way to becoming a TNA star. A TNA main eventer. A TNA Legend.
Just wait and see. Tonight is Destination X, but my destination is Bound for Glory. My destination is the main event. And for my opponents tonight, Magnus and Hardy, your destination is an ambulance.
Eric Young leaves the shot.
