TEW is getting all the love, but I don't use TEW. So rather than learn it, I decided to do a free write diary and see where it goes. But first, backstory!
Final Battle 2011 was a landmark event for Ring Of Honor. All championships were on the line, as #DemBoys defeated the duo of Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin to claim the ROH Tag Team Titles for an unprecedented 9th time. TV Champion Jay Lethal took on the man that bested him in the Proving Ground, "Technical Lightning" TJ Perkins, and was barely able to survive.
But what got fans talking was the main event, as ROH Champion Davey Richards took on tag team partner Eddie Edwards to complete the trilogy of matches. As Richards and Edwards looked to finish the fight, the lights in the arena went out. When they came back on, former WWE employees Mike "The Miz" Mizanin and Ron "R-Truth" Killings were in the ring, viciously attacking everyone in the ring. Richards, Edwards, referee Paul Turner, none were spared as Awesome Truth attacked everyone. The last image Final battle would have would be the entire ROH Roster chasing Awesome Truth into the crowd, though the issue was far from over.
Over the next few weeks, Awesome Truth would hijack the Newswire on several occasions, each time claiming that ROH was their playing ground. Several ROH wrestlers, most notably The American Wolves and The Briscoes, demanded satisfaction, but ROH Chairman Cary Silken refused to hire Miz and Truth. This would change during Return To Honor in January, as Miz and Truth once again appeared during a Briscoes vs. FutureShock match and stealing the ROH Tag Team Titles. Awesome Truth would force their way into the company because of this event, claiming that they would hand deliver the belts to WWE if they weren't given contracts.
As the ROH 10th Anniversary approaches, ROH is in a questionable state. The ROH Tag Team Titles have been returned to The Briscoes, but #DemBoys want justice the right way: By beating them. Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards want revenge on Awesome Truth for interrupting their title match, ROH in general wants to punish them, but for now, they're untouchable.
Coming soon, the roster!
