I had already gotten that sleaze vibe from him in Beyond the Mat, and Sara Del Rey's story on her AOW episode about him telling her "it's not who you know, it's who you blow" only added to it. I'd forgot about that. She'd told the story on the In Your Head show but hadn't named the promoter. When I heard her mention Alexander on AOW, I can't say I was shocked. To be fair, Sara kinda defended him on that podcast. Roland was just giving her a heads up at what he thought was what happened with a lot of women's wrestling and didn't do anything inappropriate with her. Almost like a warning to watch yourself. I think anyway, I haven't listened to that podcast in ages. But I do remember her defending Roland.

I believe Colt even asked her outright if maybe he was hinting at something and she emphatically said "no." The question is, was he warning her that, "Hey, you'll run into this, so be ready to deal with that when it comes up," or saying, "This is how it is, so you need to be ready if you want to get anywhere."

"Roland Alexander would be Vince McMahon if everyone else hadn't screwed him over." - Roland Alexander Holy s***, please tell me that's an actual quote and you're not just making a joke. Unfortunately, it's just a joke, but if I could sum up everything that I have ever heard come out of that man's mouth, it would be that quote.

My first episode was CM Punk and I've listened weekly ever since..not sure about this weeks episode though. Go with it - it's a nice sense of what the British scene is like, and the comedian at the end is so funny, it hurts. "OH, SHUT UP, YOU'RE IN A BASEMENT!!" Line of the year. Anyways, on to other matters. I've been listening to the show since episode 1. And Roland does sound like he's full of himself, he's like every other promoter, but I'll always respect his belief in the idea that indy wrestlers can matter in the business. He may be a guy who's constantly working everyone, but he believes in his boys, so that's something.

AOW 90: Lita
Lita has been described as the most popular Diva in the history of the WWE. Find out how she got to that point and her journey to superstardom. Lita and Colt have a fun little chat about Mexico, Rock N Roll, Wrestling and more…

One of the popular myths in how she left was answered. But one thing I'm noticing now while listening is the room they're in has an echo.

I feel so bad about how much I hated Lita during that Matt/Edge fiasco. Not that she even discussed it but she just seems cool as shit. Like she really loves wrestling and has some cool stories. I'm glad I listened to her episode.

A nice little podcast and some cool stories, but something about it made me dislike Lita a little. I can't quite place it on it, might even be jealously from the ridiculous awesome that is her life, but something about it ticked me off. Like a false modesty perhaps.
Ah well, good show, and some really interesting stuff.

Ah well, good show, and some really interesting stuff. I didn't get that feeling at all. I could kind of understand being irritated with her for having done so may cool things and acting like it's not a huge deal, but I didn't feel like she was just pretending to be modest. From the interview, it sounds like her entire wrestling career was a bit of an easy ride. She went to an Arena Mexico show as a fan and aspiring wrestler, and immediately caught their attention just by being a pretty white girl. She struggled a bit to get booked because they just wanted to use her as a ring girl or something, but she eventually got it with what sounded like little effort (just showed up to every show for a while and kept saying she wanted to wrestle). Then she goes to ECW and then WWF. She said she started training in '98 and signed with WWF in '99. Not taking away anything from her, but I think she's humble because she knows she didn't bust her ass to make it like so many other wrestlers did, including the man interviewin her (who has arguably, still not "made it"). I'm sure she's proud of her accomplishments, but there's no reason to have a big ego about them. Besides, any good looking American girl who appreciated lucha libre is good in my book.

I marked for Lita's mention of... {Spoiler} It endured me to her, and Colt has a great way of doing with his subjects.

I'm glad I listened to her episode. Yea. I thought I respected her before, but with every interview I hear from her I like her even more. Such a unique person with a really cool life story. Wish it could've gone longer, would've liked to hear some stories from ECW and WWE. I can't imagine doing half the stuff she did at such a young age, just because she wanted to--like finishing highschool early just to get it over with and traveling with bands, going across Europe, Mexico, etc...

Oh yeah, I've no doubt its just me either reading too much into it or misreading it entirely, there was just something about the interview that left me annoyed. But like I say, thats probably just me being silly rather than anything to do with Lita.

Who was booing Colt's impression? Considering it was Colt and Amy in the same room I'd think Punk, but that's just a total guess on my part.
