That was a picture perfect helmet toss. I can't wait to see what the penalty is.

Danica wrecks, gives Regan Smith the "naughty boy" finger point.

Dear ABC,
I haven't even the most remote interest in Nashville. Please stop with the commercials. Thank you.

Man, I cannot say how much I loved that race. The end may not have been as spectacular as the rest but still just an amazing race and probably the best non-road course of the year.

Is it safe to say beatin' and bangin' is back at Bristol?

Power's starting on the pole for the GoPro Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma. It's Power's third consecutive pole at the track, and he is going for his third consecutive win as well.
Fast Six in qualifying: Power, Briscoe, Bourdais, Castroneves, Dixon, Franchitti.
Supposedly some alterations to the track have been made to improve passing opportunities, and so far the new car has done really well on previously boring race tracks, so I'm hoping for a good race later today.

Yeah, hopefully we get a race as awesome as Edmonton today.

Ryan Briscoe picked up his first win since 2010 as he held off Will Power and Dario Franchitti in Sonoma. Power dominated most of the race until Sebastien Bourdais and Josef Newgarden crashed, bringing out a caution. Briscoe was able to cycle to the front with pit stops and held on to the lead.
Power gained a lot of points for the championship as other contenders ran into all sorts of trouble. Helio Castroneves (3rd in the championship heading into today) spun out Scott Dixon (4th) in the opening laps, which put Dixon several spots down and gave Castroneves a costly penalty. Dixon then ran into the back of Ryan Hunter-Reay (2nd), but only Dixon was hurt with some front wing damage. He ran over an air hose in the pits to fix the issue, which gave him a penalty. Later in the race, Alex Tagliani went into the back of Hunter-Reay, dropping Hunter-Reay a lap down. Hunter-Reay proceeded to punt E.J. Viso, which resulted in a penalty. Through all of that, Castroneves managed to climb back up and finished 6th.
I think Power's point lead is now up to 36.

I'm a bit disappointed actually. I was expected a better race than we got.

Wow. Evidently not having Dish has been making me miss some serious fireworks.
I gotta start checking into this thread more often.

As an aside, while IRL is the topic, I really wish they'd go back to Cleveland. The loss of the Cleveland Grand Prix was one of my primary disappointments of the CART/IRL re-merger.
I want it back if only for the awesome visual of six-seven-wide racing on the runway portions.
