I hate these people.
I've seen them. I've seen their fat kids. I've seen their impending purchases. They're a disease.
That is all. Don't be a victim. You have the power to get off your lazy ass.

I am a vendor for grocery stores so I see this all day every day. Pisses me off so much. What pisses me off even more is people who are not even fat that take them. Just lazy. One time I saw two kids riding it around while their mother (or maybe older sister) did her shopping. I almost lost it that time.
Before this job I used to see the same fat ass at my local grocery riding around. Only thing I ever saw in his basket, frozen pizza, ice cream, and beer. I finally said told him one day to eat some damn vegetables and maybe one day he could get his ass out of the cart, he was not happy, especially as all the cashiers were having to hold in their laughter.
And don't give me any crap about sympathy. I used to be over 300 pounds, but I never rode a cart, or went out of my way to take an elevator rather than stairs. You can be fat (I am a glutton, I admit it) and not be lazy.

I just hate that you'll see a 90+er perfectly content to shamble around for four hours in search of what they require yet there seems to be this whole subculture of 30-40 something people unwilling to walk to their Hostess snack cakes and such.
It ain't Busch Gardens. It ain't a ride. You're f***ing pathetic.

Yeah, my mom has severe arthritis in her hips and I tell her on the phone all the time to use the motorized carts when she goes shopping, but she won't use them because she doesn't want to run into someone she knows and for them to think she is one of those lazy people.

To be fair, those carts are pretty fun to ride. When I worked at the grocery store, some of us would fight to help out those lazy people just to ride the cart back in the store.
I am hollow inside.

I've never even seen a power cart outside of TV.

I tell my mom that too, she's "too proud" to have to use a motorized cart. It's quite telling that the ones who actually could use the carts to make things easier on themselves refuse to be seen that way. I'll see little old ladies with a hand basket filled with canned goods and not need assistance. Remember this, they lived in a time when polio was a pretty common occurrence. They were raised by parents who watched Franklin Delano Roosevelt (himself a man ravaged with the disease) frickin' walk from here to there. If that man can walk, so can I! (I'm not judging, it's just a fact of our new, modern society.)

I'll say this much for them, at least they are motivated enough to even get out to the grocery store.
Working in the food delivery business, it kinda breaks my heart when obese/lazy parents send their kid to answer the door and get their food, all the while screeching orders from some room off in the distance.

As a guy who has worked retail for 7 years, you are preaching to the choir right here. These people are perfectly capable of walking, yet they take a cart meant for a handicapped person that is unable to. Its sickening.

I dont come to the conclusion that they are too fat to walk. I think some may have health problems or are crippled or whatever.

My mom has started using the motorized carts because she has a double whammy of polycystic kidney disease(her kidneys and liver have ballooned in size from the multiple cysts, increasing her weight. She was actually losing considerable weight thanks to her job before she got hit with the disease) combining with f***ed up discs in her spine, meaning it takes a lot out of her to walk(she can't go anywhere without her cane, for example).
So I can at least vouch that not all the fat people in the riding carts do it because they are lazy and are instead handicapped.

Never really understood why people get so infuriated by it. I mean, yea...they're fat, lazy, assholes...but it doesn't bother me. They don't tend to get in my way at the store, and hell I don't even see them that often. I have so many better things to hate on that they don't even really pop up on my radar. Plus, who am I to decide that they're too lazy to walk, and not just incapable of walking in the first place?
Now, perfectly healthy people that park in a handicapped spot just b/c they have their grandmother's sticker...

i just have to let out a sigh when i see a child in a stroller that is over the age of 3 because they are too lazy to walk around amusement parks. One I recently saw had to be at least 8 years old.

At Disneyworld there's tons of them, and they always skip the ride lines, get to the front, and then walk onto the ride.
I sure am glad to witness these miracles whenever I go on holiday.

People should be required to provide proof of their handicap when taking those out. Same as they need to park in handicap spaces in the parking lot.
