....yup, as the host.
So much for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association banning him forever...

Well, if there are any complaints and knowing that Ricky Gervais will not change his ways at all, there will be, then the organisers only have themselves to blame.

Why do people like him!? He tells the same jokes people have been telling for years, but without comedic timing, and laughs before he finishes the damn joke.

Horrible, annoying and weak comedian and an insecure, money driven little sycophantic toad who's trying to buy his way into exclusive clubs of comedians by surrounding himself with popular people. So he's perfect for Hollywood, then

This is an outrage. Sure, I was not going to watch the Golden Globes regardless of who was hosting, and I have never watched them before, and will probably never watch them in the future. But still, THIS IS AN OUTRAGE For the record I don't mind him.

I don't like him myself but by gawd he did a damn good job of bursting Hollywoods pretentious bubble of self love.

One of the reasons I liked the GG is because they didn't have a host. Why do awards shows need some dope up there doing stand-up?
Get to the goddamn awards already.

i'd rather they get Karl Pilkington to host That would be brilliant. Albeit I think Ricky is fantastic too. Also, as an added extra:

Don't mind Ricky, but always thought I'd enjoy his work more than I do.
Award shows shouldn't have hosts and acts.

Terrific. He has a fantastic approach to these award shows. The only reason I watch the Golden Globes now is specifically because RG has been the host and is absolutely not afraid to take these celebrities down a few rungs and deservedly so. I can't believe the outrage last year because Gervais poked fun at some celebrities. Yes, how awful -- those poor privileged multi-millionaires who get everything they want. How terrible for them to be made fun of!
I want him to take it to the absolute extreme this year. Don't hold back Rick.

Ricky Gervais being mean to famous people is literally the only good reason to watch the Golden Globes.

First year he was good, just rather subversive. Last time he crossed the line into snarky douche territory.
