Chris Pennie leaves Coheed and Cambria

Tough decisions were made today that will help shape this band for the coming years. We extend our deepest appreciation to Chris Pennie for an incredible journey.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that they're going to be one of "those" bands when all is said and done. Where only the singer is the ONLY original member of the band, because it's HIS band.

Hmm, that sucks but I agree with you. I don't know if Travis would ever leave the band, but they could very well fall into that category.

It's really not that big a deal. Pennie was only the drummer on Year of the Black Rainbow out of their studio albums.

Right now the only members are Claudio and Travis, but it's not like either of them are responsible for Michael Todd being a heroin addict. Eppard (the drummer before Pennie) was also dealing with drug addiction and was really stressed out from being in the band after they started blowing up in popularity.

So at the very least, Todd and Eppard didn't leave because Claudio was a dick or anything. Maybe Pennie did, but I think the it's "HIS Band" accusation is a completely unfound one.

Yeah, Claudio has never been found to be a jerk.

And every person on Facebook is screaming for Josh to come back.

I like the Terrible Things, but I would love this more.

I agree with all that is said here except implying Claudio is an asshole. He's far from it. It'd just be nice is Todd wasn't so caught up in being a jackass. I do like Terrible Things as well but Josh coming back would be awesome and help revive Coheed after the last sort of 'meh' album.

Josh should come back, it's not like that rap career he left to work on ever took off.

This is so f***ing weird. As others have said, it's really only Claudio and Travis right now. I'm also hoping Josh comes back, but if he's happier doing Terrible Things and Weerd Science, more power to him. I'm not big on Terrible Things...they're okay, but whatever makes him happy.

I'm interested to see what happens, for sure.

I would be depressed if he ever stopped doing Weerd Science. He just released a new album this year, and it's AMAZING.

I was backstage with Coheed after a show in 06 (my friends band were supporting them) and they all basically were conplaining about how fame has really changed them and the fact they can't even walk to a store without being harassed. So I can't see Josh returning. He was the one complaining the most too.

Claudio was nice, little standoffish but nice. Hopefully they find themselves a new drummer and keep making great music.

I would think Claudio would have that problem regardless. His hair is massive.
