I dunno how to feel about this, I know Bret considered WCW several times before he actually jumped, but I doubt he'd jump with the belt. If you read his autobio, he did a lot of shit he didn't like because of Owen, Davey, Bruce...basically his whole family. Also, the biggest reason I don't 100% believe this is because of Stu. I don't think Stu would let Bret survive if he did it. Not to mention Bret was surprized with the news he'd be dropping to the Mountie. Unless that was to keep him from jumping...
It's possible, I suppose, but I really don't see Bret jumping with the belt.

Weird rumours abound regarding Jesse Ventura. The most believable story has Jesse debuting as Shawn Michaels' replacement colour commentator on Monday Night RAW on 02/20. This is a little surprising after all that has gone done between Vince and Jesse since their first parting of the ways, but stranger things have happened in pro-wrestling. The stranger rumour has Jesse becoming part of a new organization that will feature the in-ring talents of Rick Rude, Don Muraco, and Jimmy Snuka. I've even heard an 02/28 date for a first TV taping, location unknown.

Sorry for the late update. I sorta forgot about this thing.

I wonder what would have happened to Jerry Lawler if Ventura had come back?

WCW has worked out a deal to bring in Curt Hennig. They've already begun taping vignettes with Curt doing all of those perfect things, like hunting for deer and hitting one with one shot. Hennig had been contacted by the WWF about appearing at WrestleMania X, but apparently has had a sweeter offer.

Rumours have begun that the Ultimate Warrior wants to retire, since he is tired of the hectic WWF schedule. This just may be a ruse to counteract the "Savage wants to retire" rumours. I expect that neither wrestler will really retire, though. Either we'll have a time limit draw (but with Warrior that might be tough), or an instant replay job that causes some controversy in the finish, or a legit win by one guy followed by the arrival of a masked unknown somehow familiar even to Vince.

In again, out again: Owen Hart, who was supposed to come into WCW at several different points since last September and always pushed it back, is apparently ready to come in in March, perhaps at the next taping. There is talk of teaming Owen with Brian Pillman because they are familiar with each other (from Stampede) and are both high-flyers.

The Observer confirms what was mentioned here last week: it seems likely that John Tenta will be signed by the WWF, with speculation that he will be groomed to challenge Steve Austin for the WWF Title.

That would've definitely been better than Golga

It's already been reported on the net, but here's a recap. At TV tapings on 02/22, the WWF ran a scenario where Jim Cornette was chased off of an interview by Lex Luger, in the process dropping the WWF Title on the ground. After Lex picked up the belt, Vince suggested that it would upset Cornette if they did a mock announcement of Lex Luger as WWF World champ. So, Lex was introduced that way and emerged from behind the curtains with the belt on. Most believe that this gives away the finish of WrestleMania IX, while some think it's a ruse to fool people who are trying to guess the finish at WM. The WWF has never wasted valuable taping time before in an attempt to fool people in this manner.
-------------------------------
Wrestlemania is right around the corner so I chose this one. So what if the WWE had gone with Lex Luger as champion after Wrestlemania X.

I suspect Lugers reign would of been mediocre but Vince would of let it run it's course to at least through the year. That does make me wonder what would of became of that year's Summerslam. Perhaps a Luger vs another name to co-main event with the Undertakers, of course that wouldn't have changed the fact that Harts cage match, which hopefully had stayed in tact, would have still stolen the whole show.

Biggest rumour of the week as far as impact goes is that Shawn Michaels of the Rockers is leaving the WWF. No word on Marty Janetty's plans or Shawn's destination.
------------------------------------
Well it's lkely that Shawn would've wound up in WCW. So here's your what-if for the week. Shawn Michaels winds up in WCW in 1991
