Ugh. If Rock takes anything more than 5 minutes promo time before his match, it'll be disgusting. We already had this year's Smackdown main event punted off last year to give him time to waffle.

Punk / Jericho should open the show. It's one of the more heated matches and it gives it a more prominent position than it would have otherwise.

F*** The Rock.Seriously,if he gets additional screen time aside from the match(something like a long promo again),I'll be seriously pissed.
And Punk vs Jericho as opener? NO.For gods sake, wasn't the WHC match last year as curtain jerker bad enough?

More Rock promos. For what? What more can he say at this point that he hasn't already said, multiple times? I know the WWE feels they need to cater to The Rock's ego because he's doing them a favor by coming back, but it wouldn't hurt for them to take their lips off his ass once in a while to catch their breath.

It probably won't happen, but I'd start it with Cody and Big Show. I suspect it will be one of the world title matches, which I'm not a fan of.

I know it's good to have a great match open the show but I don't want Punk / Jericho on first. It doesn't feel right. I felt the same way with ADR / Edge last year.

They really wouldn't do that, would they? I mean he was guest host last year, so that made some sense, but he's actually in one of the matches this year. What would the point be? A backstage interview is fine, but he'd better not get an actual segment.
There's not many things that could actually shake my fandom... but this would be one of them.

I'm actually more worried about the "comedy" segments than Rock's promos.

I can't see the WWE title ever being the opener

By promo I doubt they will give him in ring time outside of the match itself. But I expect there will be 3-4 backstage segments with him involved at least. That plus a before match promo no doubt probably courtesy of Josh Matthews.

Seems fine to me, you can argue over match placement but the main event is Rock/Cena. Plus I'm willing to bet he's not the one who set aside time for any promos , blame the bookers/producers/Vince for that. One of the typical workrate matches will open the show so Punk/Jericho or Bryan/Sheamus is a wise choice. Cody/Show would be sound as well. 7 matches seems too few, but if there is tuth in 30 minutes being set aside for three of four main events I have no problem with it. I'd rather have every match on the card than 10 matches listed and two bumped to dark match status. Plus it won't tire the crowd out as much, maybe they want people to be as loud as possible in every match?

One of the big four matches HAS to start really, rather than them all being cramped at the end. The audience needs breathers, afterall.
And yes, one of the World Title matches will have to take the fall since the two non-title matches are even bigger. It was the WHC match last year so it would make sense for it to be the WWE title match this year. Who cares? That's one hell of an opener.
And I don't think anyone has to worry about too many Rock segments. This match is going to be treated as a very serious deal, I doubt they'll be showing Rock flirting with Mae Young or talking to Hornswoggle.

Yeah, Rock needs a ton of time. So we know what's trending on twitter at that point. KUNG POW LADY PARTS LOL!!!!
But if it was me booking, I'd be Team Long VS Team Ace up first. Lots of star power, sure to be some cool spots, and it'll get the crowd warmed up.

If they're going to open with a big match, why not the 12-Man Tag? Or even Bryan and Sheamus?

1. Rhodes/Show 2. Orton/Kane 3. Bryan/Sheamus 4. 12-man tag 5. Punk/Jericho 6. HHH/Taker 7. Rock/Cena
This is how I would have done it.
