Does Triple H have amy fans in the IWC?

Triple H, the most controversial wrestler in the WWE possibly in history, if he were to retire at WrestleMania he wouldn't get the big send off like Michaels or Flair inside the IWC there would most likely be much rejoicing, but do you think at least one hardcore fan will shed a tear? I hardly hear anything positive about him other than "Man I didn't think he good put on that half decent match." It's kind of hard to think of the WWE without him, but it is going to happen and I'm wondering if any of you would care?

Yes, despite the "HHH gets hated on for everything" mindset (which is I don't deny is true at times), he has fans on the internet. A lot, actually.

I'm a fan of Triple H in the same way I'm a fan of Ric Flair. in his prime he was awesome but now he just hangs around taking up TV time from guys I actually want to see.

Yeah Triple H is great. He was an amazing heel, he's much more bland as a face - but he's still an all-time great. Not one of my out-and-out favourites but I like him. One of the best storytellers we've ever seen.

Incidentally, has he ever been boo'ed (as a face) in smark towns? I don't recall that ever happening, which is surprising considering how vocal some of his internet critics are.

He's a lot like Jeff Jarrett, but not as foul tasting.

He had some great fundamentals, and is a good performer, but his family status pushed him far higher and far stronger than it should have. Sure he puts on good performances, but in the grand scheme of things, he was not good enough to have warranted the consistent megapush he has enjoyed.

His McMahon connections unarguably boosted his character's booking to demi-godhood, but he was going to be at least a 6 or 7-time world champ anyway, Steph or no Steph. Hopefully history will be kind to him and recognize how legendary a heel performer he was.

I think he is in HBK's class. Yes, Shawn has had a lot of great matches, but he himself is below the other names you've mentioned as far as being a draw goes. His biggest years, push wise, were some of WWE's lowest periods and he didn't have much in the way of crossover appeal in media appearances. The others, Triple H included, have done TV and movies while Shawn never really did.

To be fair to HBK, his bad back did cause him to miss out on WWE's highest drawing years, so it's hard to pinpoint his true impact. Though I do think HHH, when healthy, is just as capable as Shawn of dragging stiffs to good matches.

I agree. While he did have a disadvantage, it'd also be unfair to ignore the impact of it, which is that Triple H got to see bigger paydays. I personally think Triple H is the superior villain in the ring of the two of them, and that was part of why his angles with Austin and Rock were so well received, but naturally many will put all of the praise on Austin and Rock for that. Lot of variables to take into account.
