Trivia fact, March 24th 1991 was when WrestleMania VII took place which is also when Undertaker made his Wrestlemania début against Jimmy Snuka on his 26th Birthday.

It is a "gong", although not in the usual sense of the word. It's a sound effect from a synclavier, which was quite the rage in the 80s (you can hear it at the beginning of Beat It).
