He said there have been 24 HIAC matches and he and UT have been in 19 of them. So that made me wonder which matches didn't involve him or Undertaker.
The only HIAC matches that don't have either Undertaker and HHH in them are:
1. Kane vs. Mankind - August 24, 1998
2. Randy Orton vs. John Cena - October 4, 2009
3. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus - October 3, 2010
4. Mark Henry vs. Randy Orton - October 2, 2011
5. Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena vs. CM Punk - October 2, 2011
6. John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger vs. CM Punk vs. Dolph Ziggler - September 26, 2011 (RAW dark match)
Undertaker has been in 11 HIAC matches.
Triple H has been in 8 HIAC matches.

It's weird that they count the Dark Match one as an official match.

Another strange fact is that it after Kane/Mankind is that it was 11 years before they had another HIAC match that didn't have Undertaker or HHH in it.

Can anybody tell me why exactly they had a HIC match as a dark match?

Can anybody tell me why exactly they had a HIAC match as a dark match? It was the Go-Home show for Hell in a Cell, so after Raw, as the cell was already lowered, Teddy Long came out and announced a 5 man Hell in a Cell for Cena's Title.

Well their 19 plus those 6, equals 25. It's clear they don't acknowledge the dark match.

Guess they're not counting that dark match one, then, since otherwise Triple H's numbers are totally off.

I was there live for the dark match one. It wasn't even billed as a Hell In A Cell, just as a Cage Match, and the cell itself barely came into use. It was just a regular match in a cell since it was already there for decor and stuff.

Well their 19 plus those 6, equals 25. It's clear they don't acknowledge the dark match. Actually they do acknowledge the dark match. They were both in the Six Pack Challenge HITC match at Armageddon. Meaning they were in only 18 different matches. Numbers still add up.

I find it just incredibly bizarre that there was a dark Hell in a Cell match, even with how devalued the match became when they started having them every year.

Jeez if you include Orton as well as Taker and Trips then there have only been 2 Hell in a Cells (and the dark match) where none of those 3 took part.
Edit: Actually the same can be said if you swap out Orton for Cena!
