As far as Team Avatar goes, it's Mako who I don't care for. Not because of the romance or anything, it's that he just doesn't contribute a lot, character-wise. Korra is the main character, Bolin is the comedy character, and Asami has shown more competence and usefulness in battle than either brother. She's also got that storyline, however underdeveloped, with Hiroshi Sato. In comparison, what does Mako really have to make him interesting? Part of it IS the romance, though. Outside of that, Mako is pretty much the Katara of the team, with the parental sibling role over Bolin, the love interest, and giving Korra a solid bender for backup. That and him electrocuting one of the robots until it fried. That impressive enough for you? ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

I've heard an interesting theory that I think could be awesome if it happened, though there is a pretty big plot hole. I still think I wanna share it though ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) {Spoiler} The theory is that Amon is actually an Avatar (though not a fully developed one like Korra). The theory states that when Azula killed Aang back in the end of Book 2: Earth (with the lightning) that another Avatar was born but since Katara brought Aang back then Avatar that was born was then relinquished of his bending (not completely perhaps?)
The only plot hole (which is a pretty BIG one) is that Aang died in the Avatar State, so even if he died and was brought back to live, another Avatar shouldn't have been born cause if an Avatar dies in the Avatar State then that breaks the Avatar cycle.
I liked the theory enough to post it though lol. Would have been awesome if it was a bitter old Avatar-like person who was upset that he didn't get his avatar bending that he thought was his birth right.

I have this idea. Because of the battles, Asami gets seriously injured, on the verge of death, but Korra with her healing abilities saves her, she saves her right in front of Hiroshi. Who know contemplets his believes. Benders killed his wife, but a bander saves his daughter. Korra trust him enough (he could just lock her up in an Equalist prison) to give Asami to Hiroshi and says "she will be okay now, but you have to get to a hospital."

Mako's actually my favorite of the group besides Korra. Asami as said I'm not too big on, but Bolin kind of bugs me too. While the others are all at least unique in terms of the dynamic, he's basically Sokka with little new to him, instead if anything lacking a lot of the depth that Sokka had, and that style of humor doesn't work as well here as it did there. I like him, but he's not a favorite.
Also, know what'd make for a real twist? If Amon won, then the second season just consisted of him chilling around as ruler of the world the whole time while Korra could occasionally be seen depressed in the background. Nobody'd see that coming.

I've been nursing my own fan-wanky theory: {Spoiler}Aang's son, Bumi, born as a non-bender. Being the son of the Avatar, it must've lead to feelings of conflict and unworthiness, leading to resentment and outright hostility. Discovers he did, in fact, inherit traits from his father, namely energybending. Bingo! The finale cannot come quick, or slow enough. Yay! For finale. Boo! Another year to go 'til we get the resolution. Also: {Spoiler}I getting the feeling that Korra'll be stripped of her powers by Amon, as Book 1 is named Air, and the other three elements having already being covered. I could envision Book 2 being called Bending. Covering Korra's endeavour to recover her bending.
I've been wondering if Korra is stripped of her powers, would the Avatar state be affected. I was curious, as Aang was being bloodbended, yet as soon as he popped into the Avatar state, it wore off.

That actually reminds me of something I've been wondering, which is why Amon would settle for making her unable to bend. That seems like only a short-term payoff for him, when he'd get a much bigger win for his cause by killing her in the Avatar state. It might hurt his reputation a bit, but that would be a complete victory against bending.

Bit of a shaky start, but hardly hard far in or anything so whatever. Meant to ask though, anyone else thinking whenever Korra finishes Amon off she's going to repeat the, "You gotta deal with it!" line?

Huh, didn't see that coming. But now I guess we learn how Aang's vision ties into the bigger picture.

I'm not exactly getting what any of this has to do with Amon's hatred of benders.
