"Take Care" is one of the softest, corniest, Axe body spraying-ist albums of all time. Drake is terrible. A friend of mine described him as the "Grey's Anatomy of rap". Probably he's even worse than that. I seriously don't get Drake's appeal. I dug him when he was Jimmy on Degrassi, but as a musician, I just don't hear what everybody else is hearing. I have tried NUMEROUS TIMES to force myself to enjoy his music and I just can't. He's a decent singer, but when he goes to rap, shit falls apart.

Lulu. so bad it almost killed Metallica's momentum after the great Death Magnetic. also, James is THE TABLE. The guys from Morbid Angel love that album. speaking of which, their new album sucked, too.

It's going to be "Lulu' in a landslide, isn't it?

It's going to be "Lulu' in a landslide, isn't it? Yep. And I'm adding my name to it.

Is it bad that for the first few posts, I thought you were all talking about Lulu, the singer...?

Opeth- Heritage. I was a fan of their old albums but this made me mad. I dont wanna hear 70's sounds in 2011. No more death metal and no good songs. Just crap. If you're not into winding prog rock you'll probably have a hard time enjoying it. It's a departure for sure, but Opeth have never been about strict metal in the first place, not even on Orchid. The musicianship is very strong on Heritage. That notwithstanding, it's obviously not for everyone. -------------- I can't really choose a 'worst album' for 2011 because I wouldn't touch most of the Top 40 with a ten-foot pole. So, this is by and large NOT the worst, but for me personally, it was the most disappointing: Dredg - "Chuckles & Mr. Squeezy". I don't know what they were trying to do but they missed the mark. I liked some songs - they're great "chill" songs or whatever you want to call it - just something to put on and take it easy. But this album lacks that all important soul Dredg were known for. It seems like they lose a bit of that with every record they make, and that bothers me. I'm done anticipating El Cielo II; they're never gonna top El Cielo, but this is not the direction they should've pursued. And they had a good drummer so why did they rely on a drum machine (or what sounds like one at least)? I've listened to it a few times since release and I'd rather just put The Dear Hunter back in or something. I love "The Thought of Losing You", but even that song suffers from the reoccurring repeativity on the record. Also, the artwork sucks. They usually have awesome art. It was just salt in the wounds, I guess.

Lil' B - "I'm Gay"
I usually f***s with the Based God but this album was weak. Wiz Khalifa "Rolling Paper" f***ing sucked too.

I was trying really hard to think of an album that severely disappointed me this year, and Chuckles & Mr. Squeezy is definitely it. While El Cielo is definitely their best work, I realy enjoyed Catch Without Arms and Parrot. But this album just...lacked anything interesting at all. I wanted to like it so bad.

Lil b is a guilty pleasure of mine. i kno he sucks but his swag rap mixed with those hard beats make it hard for me to hate him... Lil B doesn't suck. "Good Morning" and "MySpace" prove he's a technically proficient rapper when he wants to be. He can balance that with some funny absurdity and that made for some pretty well rounded awesome projects in 2010. That being said, 'I'm Gay' was a touch trying too hard. I get that Lil B wanted to focus on positivity for the biggest stretching release of his career, but he over-corrected and it came off too heavy handed and not fun enough, which is entirely not #Based My favorite Lil B project of 2011 was 'I Forgive You.' I felt he achieved what he was trying to do from both a songwriting and vibe perspective much better. Side note, going to the 'Angels Exodus' release party was one of the funnest things I've done this year. Here's a write-up I did on it with my best of Lil B mix - www.syffal.com/lil-b-listening-party

I pretty much have to say Lulu and that's considering all of the bad RAP albums, which are probably in the millions each year (I say this as a huge fan). There was one rap album this year that I would honestly say was as bad, if not worse, than 'Lulu.' Easily the single worst rap album of the past decade: spectrumculture.com/2011/08/declaime-self-study.html
