So I finally completed my list of movies to watch during Christmas time a little while ago and the two movies I watched tonight were "The Long Kiss Goodnight" and "Reindeer Games." I had a blast watching Long Kiss Goodnight, and I forgot how entertaining that movie is. I never thought that I would see Geena Davis play a sexy badass and it had been so long since I have seen that movie. However, I also watched Reindeer Games, which I have seen a few times before, mainly on Showtime back in 2001. What I want to know is your opinion about that movie.
Personally, I thought that the movie was entertaining for what it was, poorly written script with decent action and suspense. I know people say that it's a bad movie and I can agree since I watched it tonight and I can definitely see how bad it is now, but I don't dislike this movie.
Charlize Theron was undoubtedly hot in this movie, but when I saw her in that scene with her and Gary Sinise in the pool talking about the plan and her true colors, when she took off her bikini top, I was like "Seriously?" because that girl really did not have much to flaunt in that scene.
Also, the twist at the end has always bugged me.
But I still sort of liked it. What did you think of it?

Matt Damon: Just take it from "It's a good course." Ben Affleck: Oh, now you're the director. Matt: Hey shove it, Bounce-boy. Let's remember who talked who into doing this shit in the first place. Talking me into Dogma was one thing, but this... Ben: Hey look, I'm sorry I dragged you away from whatever-gay-serial-killers-who-ride-horses-and-like-to-play-golf-touchy-feely-picture you're supposed to be doing this week. Matt: I take it you haven't seen Forces of Nature? Ben: You're like a child. What've I been telling you? You gotta do the safe picture. Then you can do the art picture. But then sometimes you gotta do the payback picture because your friend says you owe him. [They both take a beat and look at the camera] Ben: And sometimes, you have to go back to the well. Matt: And sometimes, you do Reindeer Games. Ben: See, that's just mean. Charlize Theron was undoubtedly hot in this movie, but when I saw her in that scene with her and Gary Sinise in the pool talking about the plan and her true colors, when she took off her bikini top, I was like "Seriously?" because that girl really did not have much to flaunt in that scene. Nothing wrong with that ;D Gimme nice small breasts before what some girls call "enhancements". Thank you for getting topless, Charlize.

I thought Gary Sinise was pretty good and the twist was alright. It's something that's worth a watch on cable, maybe a rewatch after quite a while. The Long Kiss Goodnight is quality, watched it several times. Hard to believe now how big Geena Davis used to be.

Okay, I'll talk about my main beef with this movie, the big twist at the end. {Spoiler}I can understand the twist involving Charlize Theron's character actually being involved with the heist and that she was actually doing Gary Sinise's character. They were never siblings and were playing Ben Affleck. That makes sense.
The end twist, however, didn't really make sense. The fact that Ben Affleck's friend and cellmate was alive and the mastermind behind everything. Not to mention Charlize Theron actually being Jame Frain's character's girlfriend from before and they all tricked the four truckers and Ben Affleck's character into pulling the big job.
It felt too contrived. I even felt that way when I watched it a long time ago. All in all, I still thought that the movie was good for what it was, but the last 20 minutes of it kind of ruined it. There is one thing that I wonder, do you think that this movie was initially intended for a December of 1999 release but ended up being released in February of 2000? Someone once told me that, how the movie was probably supposed to be released in Christmas time of 1999 but was pushed back, because of how, and I quote, "bad it is."

I haven't found anything that says it was but it came out February and that's usually a dumping ground for bad movies so there's a chance.

The movie has so many twists that you'd think Vince Russo wrote the script, but I love this movie. I also watch it every Christmas.
I loved the casino scenes, especially anything involving the manager Jack Bangs. But yes, I agree, 1 twist too many.

I own the director's cut of it, but I also own the theatrical cut on VHS. The thing I don't understand is why that part when Ben Affleck paid Ashton Kutcher was cut out of the DC.
