Hi guys, I'm looking at getting a new laptop for Christmas this year since my Toshiba finally bit the dust this month. I'm a college student and I do a fair amount of schoolwork on it as well as your average amount of internet browsing and music downloading/storage. I'm not a big gamer and I don't need a ton in terms of memory and power output. I'm mostly just looking for a reliable machine that I can use for school and won't be too much of a hassle to keep clean. Actually the biggest thing I want is one of the keyboards that has the non-reflective keys, my current Toshiba has the reflective keys and they are a bitch to keep clean. Thanks for any help you can offer guys! Happy holidays!

How big laptop do you want? If you're going to spend a lot of time lugging it around in school and you have a desktop computer get a light 13" inch one. If it's going to be your only computer you might want to sacrifice some mobility for a 15" screen and a bit bigger keyboard.
How much money do you want to spend? A basic 15" one might go for 499€ for a decent processing power to 399€ for a slower one. If you want lightness or extra speed prepare to add 200€ to those numbers.
And if the keyboard is important I'd go to a store and find out which works the best for you. Some new laptops have these "chiclet" type keyboards which take some time to get used to. I've owned my Toshiba for 6 months and I'm still struggling because it still feels like I'm pushing gummy bears. The keys don't have much feedback and they're shaped wrong.
