Maybe not legit wise, but I'm cool with the idea of having the ponies have different cultural and religious diversities. again, really helps broaden their characters.

Just got a fanfic idea based on the Pegasi design...
"We are in the year 500 B.C. (Before Celestia). All of Equestria has been occupied by the pegasi...All of Equestria? No! A village populated by strong-willed earth ponies doesn't stop opposing the aggressor. And life is not easy for the pegasi warriors which are assembled in the forts of Pegasopolis, Cloudsdale, Wingipek and Tel Flyiv..."
