Gave it a solid 7. Good bounce back for Merriweather Williams after her somewhat disappointing first effort in The Mysterious Mare Do Well.

What I noticed from this episode, Since this episode was mostly a play with a script, it felt like each pony that played a ruler was probably deliberately hamming it up. So Pinkie Pie was probably hamming her Pinkie-ness up, Rarity was in SUPER DRAMA MODE, and Rainbow Dash was.....you know. Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, and Applejack each had no ambition to be memorable (especially Fluttershy) from what I saw in the "acting" sequences, and each of them had to deal with that hammy-ness within the bounds of the play. Cue a lot of Applejack having no idea what her cues are and a lot of "uhh", because Pinkie Pie was.....being Pinkie Pie. Besides that, I liked the stylistic touch of going beyond the set to just showing what the set represents, and there were some nice animated bits. I dug Spike as the narrator. And I thought the earth pony/unicorn/pegasus stuff was actually really clever and well done. As I said before, a good episode, but not a great one. To me, it kind of lacked a certain spark that some of the better episodes tend to have. A solid 7/10. Definitely better than Mare Do Well.

Rewatching the ep on my XBox. Found Rainbow Day a couple of times.

Also, another thing I noticed is that while most of the ponies were singing the song at the end, the only one I noticed who wasn't... was Lyra.

I give the episode an 8. It was really solid, nothing really wrong with the episode.
About the only "complaint" I can make about the episode is that I agree that it could've probably benefited from being an hour long special, rather than just a 20+ minute episode.

The greedy harlot wanted a starring role and didn't sing out of protest. That and they wouldn't let her sing "All I Want For Hearth's Warming Is To Be Human".

I think some more interaction with the Windigos would have been cool, too.

6/10
As I said before, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I did highly enjoy the Wendigoes though, as they could make for interesting fanon.

Maybe they're intentionally making her a mute. Nearly every other notable backgrounder has had a line except her.
