I dont think Eli is better than Rivers. I mean, this season, absolutely. But as a body of work? I dont think so. Eli has definitely performed better in bigger games than Rivers, but I still think theyre on the same level, a tier right behind Rodgers/Brady/Brees/Peyton.
Eli is easily superior to Romo, though.

I dont think it's a wide margin, but I give Eli the nod over Rivers just based on winning when it matters

Eli is way more clutch than Rivers, and I think that's what makes him better than Rivers. They're around the same talent-wise and while Eli's had the better season this year, Rivers is usually one of the best in the NFL regular season. But Eli always finds a way to win in big spots while Rivers usually finds a way to throw it all away. The helmet catch in Super Bowl XLII is arguably the most clutch pass in NFL history. Not just for Tyree's effort pinning it to his helmet, but for Eli's efforts in avoiding what should've been a sure sack and throwing an on-target pass with a ton of physical and mental pressure.
Also, Eli has a Super Bowl Ring and MVP award, which counts for something.

Chiefs fire Todd Haley, ESPN just announced. I hate the Chiefs, and I've got to say, their best defensive player is injured, their best offensive weapon is injured, their starting QB is injured, and they fire Haley? At least let him finish out the season. Methinks that Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty he got yesterday, and how the team was getting flagged left and right yesterday, was the final straw.

NFL Playoff Picture after Week 14: AFC 1) Houston(AFC South) 2) Baltimore6) NY Jets at 3) New England 5) Pittsburgh at 4) Denver Tiebreaks: Houston has better AFC record(8-2) than Baltimore and New England(both 7-2) Baltimore has better record in common games than New England(common opponents so far: Indianapolis, NY Jets, Pittsburgh; Ravens are 4-0, Patriots are 3-1) NFC 1) Green Bay(NFC North, 1st round bye) 2) San Francisco(NFC West) 6) Detroit at 3) New Orleans(playoff berth) 5) Atlanta at 4) NY Giants Tiebreaks: San Francisco has better NFC record(8-2) than New Orleans(6-3) NY Giants beat Dallas Week 14 Atlanta beat Detroit Week 7 So Baltimore own the tie-breakers over NE and Houston (whom they defeated) but are #2 seed because of a worse conference record!?

Man, Kansas City has no patience with their coaches anymore. Meanwhile, I had to endure a slow, no-energy game where one team was quarterback'd by a guy who is going to be treated like he is some cursed idol when the year is over with. And, wouldn't you know, they lost again. Big surprise. But, congrats has to be sent to Houston, for FINALLY making the playoffs, and winning the AFC South to boot.

Haley is also kind of a douche. I get the feeling he wasn't the most popular guy in the locker room, especially with the way he's acted like a stereotypical Football Dad with Cassel at times.

Todd Haley isn't "kind of" anything. The guy is a full-blown hemorrhoid. I just wonder, why now? Its not like they're going to improve now. They're just going to get wiped off the face of the earth next week, no matter what.

After he got that penalty yesterday, I was expecting him to get fired. Just not that fast.

Yes, because it's a 3 way tie between the Texans, Patriots, and Ravens, since all 3 teams are 10-3(Baltimore swept 10-3 Pittsburgh, so the Ravens would win the North if playoffs started Tuesday). You have to break the 3 way tie first to determine either the #1 seed or the #3 seed, whichever gets determined first. Head-to-head only matters in a 3-way tie if one team beat the other two(if New England had played Baltimore instead of Pittsburgh and still lost, Baltimore would get the #1 seed by beating both New England and Houston) or if one team lost to the other two.

espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/machineWhat I got: AFC: 1. Baltimore (13-3) 2. New England (13-3) 6. NY Jets (11-5) @ 3. Houston (11-5) 5. Pittsburgh (13-3) @ 4. Denver (10-6) NFC: 1. Green Bay (16-0) 2. New Orleans (13-3) 6. Detroit (10-6) @ 3. San Francisco (12-4) 5. Atlanta (10-6) @ 4. Dallas (10-6)

Remember, the curse of 13-3 in the AFC.

Remember, the curse of 13-3 in the AFC. I had Houston going 13-3 at first, meaning a Jet/Bronco AFC Championship, but I gave them losses to the Panthers and Titans. Even if they didn't go 13-3, they aren't gonna go so far. Jets would probably steamroll them.

Well, it's refreshing listening to someone on Sports Radio who is giving Tebow his due credit while noting that he wasn't THE major factor behind the Broncos' win (unlike ESPN and other talking heads). He gives credit first to 1. the Bears completely screwing the pooch and 2. Prater's insane FG's.

Drew Brees tied an NFL record he shares with Rich Gannon, most 300 yard passing games in a season. Brees had his 10th yesterday, tying Gannon(2002) and himself(2008).
For the first time in NFL history, four QB's have 4,000 yards passing after Week 14: Brees, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Eli Manning.
Julio Jones became the 2nd rookie in NFL history(Randy Moss, 1998) to have two games with 100+ receiving yards, average 30+ yards a catch, and 2 TD's.
Green Bay joins the 1998 Denver Broncos as only defending Super Bowl champs to start 13-0 the following season. The Packers have won 19 in a row including playoffs.
Packers have now scored 466 points so far this season, a new franchise record(461 in 2009).
Aaron Rodgers has 13 straight games with at least 2 TD passes, tying the longest streak in NFL history(Don Meredith, 1965-66; Peyton Manning, 2004; Tom Brady, 2010-11). Rodgers has 39 TD passes this season, tying Brett Favre's franchise record(1996).
New England became the 3rd team in NFL history to win 10 games at least 9 straight season(49ers, 1983-98, 16 straight; Colts, 2002-10, 9 straight).
Rob Gronkowski has 15 receiving TDs this season, most ever in a season by a TE. Gronkowski has 25 TD catches in 29 career games, the 5th ever to reach 25 TD catches in at least 29 games(Bill Groman, 24 games; Lance Alworth and Bob Hayes, 27 games; Randy Moss, 29 games).
Wes Welker has 100 catches this season, 3rd player in NFL history with four 100 catch season(Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison)
2nd time this season that four teams came back from 12+ point deficits to win their games(Atlanta, Jacksonville, Houston, Arizona yesterday; Week 2 Sept. 18), most since 1984.

He gives credit first to 1. the Bears completely screwing the pooch and 2. Prater's insane FG's. I'd give credit like this. 1.) Prater. That game-tying FG could've gone 65 yards from the looks of it. Then drops a 51 yarder to win it. Damn...he should get the game ball. 2.) Marion Barber. If you don't see him on "C'MON MAN!" tonight, then the world is a crying shame. 3.) Of course, Tebow...him in the 4th quarter is just nuts. To quote the man, "It's not so much "Tebow Time" as it is 'Broncos Time'." I just like doing it because it's fun as hell.
