This is the second time this has happened now. Cena has the match all wrapped up, but instead of going for the win, he wants to keep the punishment going for his own amusement. This happened at WrestleMania when he wanted to do his own People's Elbow to Rock and it cost him, and now it happened against Laurinaitis at Over The Limit.
Cena, you big dummy. What kind of self-serving bull was this "I'll let go of my deadly submission if you last 10 seconds" nonsense? You have the chance to rid the company of Big Johnny and actually be popular for once and you do that?
He deserved to lose after that, Big Show or not.

They have to be going somewhere with that. There's just no way that Cena can be THAT arrogant and not develop on it.

He's the Sting of WWE. Instead of stupidly trusting the same guys over and over again, he doesn't put big matches away.

I do remember occasion where you'd get disqualified for such behaviour back in 90s WWF/WCW. I don't remember who it was, but some arrogant heel was playing around with a helpless jobber and breaking up pins repeatedly until the ref disqualified him.

Which is strange since it was Lesnar's arrogence that allowed Cena to beat him

Chikara still has the "excessive punishment" rule. I assume it's the same in all lucha libre promotions.

Sadly I don't think we're supposed to see it like that so much as a miscarriage of justice in Cena being denied what he's owed as the greatest (and funniest!) sports entertainer of this or any age. We definitely weren't supposed to be viewing his actions critically last night, from my perspective.

Even though this isn't what you were talking about, Ken Shamrock had his decision reversed at WM14 for continuing to ankle lock the Rock (after suplexing everybody). And then he suplexed more people and snapped even more after they reversed it.

I honestly hope someone like Sheamus or Punk has a go at Cena for basically goofing around and not getting the job done. Heck bring Edge back again!

It happened once shortly after Jake the Snake turned heel (or maybe it was as a face, after he was "blinded" by Rick Martel); he DDT'd a guy (I remember his name: Tom Stone) repeatedly and was eventually DQ'd.

He looked like such an arse last night. I know it was Laurinitus getting his comeuppance and all but Cena just looked obnoxious to me.
