I really can't see how you can hate Drew Brees: the person. He's one of the most charitable and nicest athletes around. I can see hating some of the other people on the Saints, including their coach, but Brees is one of the most inoffensive players in the NFL. He doesn't run his mouth, He doesn't act like a primadonna or a douchebag. The only thing I don't like about his offense is that they'll sometimes try to rub it in their opponent's faces by continuing to try and score instead of assuming a victory formation when there's absolutely no way the other team can win. But I think that's more their coaching and Drew's competitive spirit than any sort of mean-spiritedness on his part. Hell, when the Saints won the Super Bowl and they were on the podium..........the most important thing to Brees at that time was to get earmuffs so that the loud ovation would not cause his kid any hearing loss.

Brees needs 11 completions Sunday to break Peyton Manning's record of 450 set last season.

Probably not. Like I said earlier, Brees probably only plays the 1st half Sunday with the 49ers(Saints need SF to lose to have a shot at the #2 seed) playing the Rams.

How do you think Bolts fans felt seeing Ex-Charger Brees sets pass yards record with TD pass to ex-Charger Sproles.

Plus, take into consideration that Brees had a good year in '04 and suffered a shoulder injury in the final game of '05 which made it easier for the Chargers to go with Rivers and let Brees go.

Miami passed on him because of the injury and people thought the Saints were taking a huge gamble because of it.

I like Drew Brees a lot, and I have a lot of respect for the guy, he deserves all the kudos he'll get for breaking a record almost as old as I am. I wonder, though, if the magnitude of it will be lost a little bit, since Brady will probably pass Marino's mark next week too. Does it mean less if it stands for 27 years, and then two guys break it in the same season? I don't think so, but I bet some people will.
And as a postscript, for as much as I like Drew, he's not winning the MVP this year. Maybe if he had played it clean tonight with no picks, but even then it was a long odds situation. And yeah, I'm a homer, but come on. For serious. That ship has sailed.
