Dan Orlovsky missed Colts practice Wednesday because his wife delivered triplets. [Colts fan who wants to lose to draft Andrew Luck]Teach him a lesson! Bench him! Play Painter this week![/Colts fan who wants to lose to draft Andrew Luck] Man, he has had quite the last couple of weeks, hasn't he? Good for him.

According to NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora, Patriots OC Bill O'Brien is starting to emerge as a head-coaching candidate for jobs that will open next week. Not only does Tom Brady make his receivers look better, but he can also make an Offensive Coordinator look like a genius. Not to say that Bill O'Brien is destined for failure, but the last two Patriots Offensive Coordinators who went on to become head coaches were Charlie Weis and Josh McDaniels, neither of whom had great success.

Question because I don't feel like doing the research: If the Colts and Rams both win, and the Vikings lose, how will the top 3 in the draft look like?

Colts president Bill Polian made it clear that the team needs an "infusion of young, big-play talent" at virtually every position on the roster.
Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, Robert Mathis, and Jeff Saturday are among the key free agents. Joseph Addai, Dallas Clark, LB Gary Brackett, and SS Melvin Bullitt are candidates to be released, though that leaves the Colts with more than $15 million in "dead money" against the cap. Dwight Freeney will have to be restructured as well, as he counts $19 million against the 2012 salary cap.

Question because I don't feel like doing the research: If the Colts and Rams both win, and the Vikings lose, how will the top 3 in the draft look like? I'd have to check, but I believe that the Colts have the worst strength of schedule, so in the case of a tiebreaker, they'd have the #1 pick.

It'd be Colts, Vikings, Rams in that order.
Edit: Let me make sure of that first. 2nd Edit: It's right, Colts 1st, Vikings 2nd, Rams 3rd if Colts and Rams both win and Vikings lose.
Strength of schedule(1st not counting Week 17, then adding in record of Week 17 opponent
Colts: 124-101(at 4-11 Jacksonville, 128-112) Rams: 129-96(vs. 12-3 San Francisco, 141-99) Vikings: 127-98(vs. 7-8 Chicago, 134-106)
The way the NFL scheduling is, a team could only gain 4 games in strength of schedule for draft purposes, so the Colts are too far ahead for either to catch up.
For example: This year, the Rams had the AFC North and NFC East, and the two 2nd place teams from the other NFC divisions(New Orleans and Green Bay) besides their division rivals(San Francisco, Seattle, Arizona).
The Vikings had the AFC West and NFC South, and the two 4th place teams from the other NFC divisions(Arizona and Washington)
The Colts had the AFC North and NFC South and the two 1st place teams from the other AFC divisions(New England and Kansas City)
Week 17 games that affect Rams' strength of schedule: 49ers at Rams(Rams win, counts as two 49ers losses; 49ers win, two 49ers wins) Seahawks at Cardinals(cancels each other out twice) Ravens at Bengals(cancels each other out) Steelers at Browns(cancels each other out) Redskins at Eagles(cancels each other out) Cowboys at Giants(cancels each other out) Panthers at Saints(would need Saints to lose) Lions at Packers(would need Packers to lose)
If the Rams beat the Niners, at best their strength of schedule to gain ground on the Colts if Indy wins as well would be 147-109(149-107 if Rams and Colts both lose).
Wouldn't even be close as the Colts strength of schedule record would be 138-118 if the Colts lost(plus the Patriots and Chiefs winning) and 136-120 if the Colts and Rams both won.
If Minnesota lost to Chicago(with the Colts and Rams both winning), their strength of schedule would gain two wins for the Bears, even if the Cardinals and Redskins both lost, the Vikings strength of schedule at best would be 142-114.

They had their struggles last year, too. Peyton Manning just did a really good job of covering up since he's, well, he's Peyton freakin' Manning. But without him, the rest of the team and their coach is completely exposed.

Impending free agents QB Vince Young, RB Ronnie Brown, and WR Steve Smith are not expected back with the Eagles in 2012.
According to NFL Network's Michael Lombardi, the Chiefs will "make an effort" to re-sign impending free agent Kyle Orton as a competitor for Matt Cassel in 2012.
Jake Ballard (knee) has been ruled out for Week 17 versus the Cowboys.
Coach Gary Kubiak confirmed Friday that Andre Johnson is "ready to go" for Sunday's game versus the Titans.

I've seen plenty of people saying they'd take Dalton over Cam right now....and don't see how Cam has a chance to win OROY over him....
In other words, reading things on the internet causes my brain to hurt sometimes....

If Cam had Dalton's defense the Panthers would be 12-4 right now.

I wasn't even trying to be a homer about the situation.....I've seen both play and Dalton is going to have a long NFL career as well, but Cam is just a once in a lifetime talent in my opinion... I also find it funny that Cam is being called "fake and his true identity will come out soon"....like he is a f***ing comic book villain....smh

The only thing that confuses me about the media's love for Cam is how he gets praised for being a running QB, while Tebow gets criticized for being the same thing. Is Newton a better passer right now? I don't see how you can say he's not, but it's just weird how they both run and one gets praised and one gets knocked for it.

Tebow doesn't get criticized for being a running QB, he gets criticized for not being a very good passer.

Cam has actually toned his running down since the beginning of the season...and if anything he has stayed in the pocket at times when he could have easily have ran and gained yardage... He's gotten better at the choosing of whether to run or pass in the last few games though... Whereas Tebow seems to be a run first QB similar to old school Vick... Cam has been trying to go out of his way to be a pocket qb though...

I have an opinion on why this happens as far as former NFL players go, but it probably will get deleted if I said it.
