After viewing The Incredible Hulk on FX yesterday, I could not help but be amazed at how many people who have seen this movie but missed out on the fact that while Abomination was the main villain of the film, we also saw the creation of Hulk's arch-nemesis, The Leader. When Tim Roth turns into Abomination, he throws Nelson across the room and a drop of Bruce Banner's blood falls into a cut on his head. His forehead starts to pulsate and he looks at the camera with a crazy grin. I don't know if they are any plans for a sequel with him coming back with the giant green forehead, but I think he was a decent choice for the character-I can see him having that ultra-intelligent but creepy kind of personality. Anyone else pick up on this?

I knew he was becoming The Leader as soon as they revealed his name, Samuel Sterns. I was pleased they showed the beginning of his transformation in the movie, I thought they would just set it up with him getting Hulk's blood.
I would like to see him as a villain with Abomination and some gamma monsters in an Avengers sequel, as I doubt Hulk will get a sequel.
I was disappointed they made him a doctor. In the comics he was a menial laborer/janitor and the gamma radiation made him intelligent. If they had more time maybe he could have been a menial assistant to a doctor with a different name and shown him as jealous of the doctor. Then when Abomination transforms the doctor could have been killed and Sterns gets irradiated and gets what he wanted, super intelligence.

Who missed it? It was pretty obvious. Even my wife who doesn't read comics understood that they were creating a villain for a sequel.

Honestly it bugged me for the most part. Nothing really set up the idea of the guy as a villain, and it just served to distract from the rest of the scene. Though I do wish they'd make a sequel - personally quite enjoyed the movie.

It's another little touch about that movie that I loved. It's just a shame the chances of another movie with the Leader as the Big Bad are slim.
Although honestly, I thought Mr. Blue would end up being Mr. Fantastic.

Terrible choice for the Leader. Tim Roth would have been a better choice.
