...what part of speech is "ass"?
My friend says it's an adverb, but I disagree. I don't think "ass" is modifying "random". Maybe I'm wrong.

Ass is not a part of peech in and of itslf, but more a suffix for the word "Random". If anything it's either a part of the adjective "Random-Ass" or at best a tmesis or "Complete word or exclamation that breaks up another complete word such as "Abso-f***ing-lutely" or "Fan-f***ing-tastic"

I say adjective in that it's more like "Random-ass mofo" with "random-ass" being descriptive of the mofo in question.

I believe it would be an adjective, as "random-ass" seems like a hyphenated adjective that describes the noun "motherf***er".

It's a verb, much like "play" is in the sentence "Where the big boys play".

Threads like this really make me love this place.
I say it's an adjective as well.

I think it has to be an adjective that modifies "mofo."
