Figured it was bad losing cash and hope the last decade. Now we have no jobs, so I'm worried about this decade.

Too soon to tell. 2000-2002 wasn't indicative of the rest of the decade at all, but if I had to say if I liked the cultural output of those years as opposed to now it would be a bit of a toss-up. Those were such weird transitional years, especially what was popular in summer 2001, and there is such a defined current of style right now that it doesn't seem like much of an even match-up.
I spent New Year's Eve 2001 eating reheated Davanni's pizza, watching 'Rockabilly Vampire' and going to see Wesley Willis live in Minneapolis. This year I saw 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,' ate NYE snacks and drank champagne with well dressed friends in New York City. How do I choose between that?

It's exactly the same as the 00's. Was going to post this. As I get older, everyday feels the same. Even holidays don't seem special at all. |

On a personal level, 2010 and 2011 sucked for a number of reasons. 2000-2009 was comparatively pretty sweet.

The past year and a half has been really kind to me. Finished MBA, got a sweet job, in a long and healthy relationship. Only downside were some health issues and lost contact with a few friends.

I have every bit of confidence that aside from technology, this decade will suck even more ass than the last decade. Now on a personal level-something GREAT could be happening for me. But otherwise I'm speaking of pop culture and the economy.
