First of all, I have nothing against people who smoke.
My own reasons for starting were to further relaxation, and I do not find myself addicted as I do not have one everyday, nor do I have more than one on days that I choose to have one. I'm thinking of stopping entirely, but here's the issue:
Every single time I find myself gettig frustrated on some silly thing (most commonly schoolwork), I turn to smoking. It's not a "I need one right now" type of mentality, but rather, "I'm frustrated, I hate everything and everyone, I'll have a smoke." In a way, I feel like the stresses of the college environment has torn me apart because of this.
Well that's all for now. What's your take on the matter?

My take is that the longer you wait, the harder it is going to get, and you'll find more and more reasons to smoke. I don't smoke, but virtually every adult in my family does or has, so you tend to see it happen a lot and hear about it when they try to quit.
I can only really suggest trying to find something else you can do to blow off steam. Is there anything else that gives you a release?

Exercise and meditation, generally, although I will not be able to do the former until later in February due to having appendicitis. Waiting for the scars to fully heal at the moment, and they should by that time.
The longer you wait the harder it will get? Accurate. It's not addiction-based for me. Even before taking up the habit, I would say "I could go for a smoke right now." By no means do I desire it every second I go without one.

You should try an ecig. I ordered one from www.premiumecigarette.com/ and it works great. I wasn't a regular smoker just only at bars and parties, but whenever I would buy a pack I would smoke 2 and then be done with the pack. I figured if I had an ecig I could use it when i want and not have full packs go to waste because I only smoke when I drink.

If you associate smoking with easing your stressful life, that's a dependence.
If you want to quit, but "can't" because you rely on it for relaxation, that sounds like an additiction to me. Unless I'm missing something here?
If you weren't at least somewhat addicted, quitting wouldn't be an issue.
Just because you don't constantly crave a smoke 24/7 doesn't mean you're not somewhat dependent on it.

I have one from Awesome Vapor and I've smoked about a pack since I got it in October. The only time I smoked was when I waited too late to order refill fluid and would have to fo a day or two without. And when I did smoke, it was waaay less frequently than before. I used to go through a pack a day, but when my e-cig is empty, I smoke maybe 4 or 5 a day. As long as you have plenty of refills, you will never have to smoke again.

If I want to go without it, I very well can. It's my mind that needs changing. My current frame of mind is "this world is a dark, depressing place. may as well smoke."
The last time I had a cigar was Saturday.

Haha, well, yeah its a dark, depressing place, but there's a pretty big leap between that and smoking.
Why not, "this world is a dark, depressing place. may as well do some charity work"? Both take years off your life!

You make an excuse to smoke (like most of us smokers, stress) and you go with it.

You are addicted, no matter how little you want it, the " i AM STRESSED, ME NEED THE CIG!' Equals problem. I just quit, have been stopped for 7 weeks now, did it cold turkey. Only way to do it by the way, i feel patches and electronic cigs are just crutches. I think you would just go back to it. Also, as you get older, it gets harder and harder to quit, I am 33 and I smoked 2 packs a day, the stress of truck driving did that to me. I need a release, so i noticed the problem and just quit. I feel so much better. Good Luck.
