and I'm reaping all of the beneifits.
So, my subscription is up and I've already received several, "Please renew!" notices from them. I actually never renew, because the price for new subscribers is usually less than the renewal price, so I just usually use one of the cards out of the magazine.
Well, yesterday, I got not one, but two notices in the mail. The first one was pretty much the same that they've been sending me: 13 issues at $19.95 OR 26 issues at 34.95. A fantastic deal off the cover price, for sure.
But on a lark, I went ahead and opened the second envelope. The offer for 13 issues was the same, $19.95, but the offer for 26 issues was $21.00!! So, for $1.05 more, I get ANOTHER YEAR? Sign me up! It comes out to about $0.80 an issue.
Has anyone else gotten this insane deal? I'm almost thinking they're extremely desperate, or it was a misprint.

People still pay for magazines? I figured at this point every just had 5 subscriptions they got for free and don't know how that should have expired but they keep sending them anyways

Sounds like that episode of Garfield and Friends where that guy would constantly lower his prices in order for Jon to renew his subscription and it just got so ridiculous you have no idea how he ended up making any money.

I remember a report around their last fiscal end which said how WWE Magazine is pretty much breaking even right now, and they ere looking into a digital issue only. That explains the awesome deal you got.
As someone who has collected every issue since 10/92, the day this magazine is discontinued, I will shed a tear.

Someone pointed out to me that they have to have so much distribution to look good to their advertisers. So, thought they're definitely losing money on the deal they offered me, maybe they'll get it back from advertisers.
WWE Magazine seems to hold value as a collectible, plus there's usually good pictures and at least one or 2 things worth readings. So, I really feel I got a deal for sure. The only thing I'm not a fan of anymore are the covers. They used to be diverse and creative, now every month you can figure it's going to be one of 4-5 guys busting out of a wall or something.

People still read WWE magazine? I still do. They're still good reads, and some of the photography is awesome.

I stopped reading in 1992. Started reading Raw magazine in 1996 and occasionally WCW magazine in 1997 but since then I really don't see what they could offer fans like us, unless I'm missing something?
On a side note, there's a second hand store that has 100s of back issues of WWF magazine from the early 90s priced at about £2 each. I didn't realise they were collectable.

If Jewel still sells WWE Magazine (or magazines at all) I'm going to pick up this issue for the first time in about 6 years when I was laid up from knee surgery. I just want to read the CM Punk stuff or I wouldn't even consider buying it. I've flipped through them several times over the years and it depresses me to see what crap they have become since the days I bought them as a kid.

Jewel had the magazine and I bought it. On one hand I was a little shocked to see it was $6.99 now, on the other I figure all magazines are pretty much the same price. Later I'll look through some of my old ones and check the price on those to see how they have gone up.
The CM Punk interview was definitely a good read, I just wish it was a little longer. I'll flip through it for the next couple weeks reading a little at a time.

My son's into the magazines, he likes the huge posters and keeps changing where they hang. (He won't say but I know he has a crush on Eve.)
I passed over WWE Magazine this month and bought a MAD for the first time since 1998, since my kids like the show and love my 10 year collection of them. If my son wants WWE Magazine bad enough, he'll buy it himself. (It's a good magazine, I like the trivia games and the "Name The Match" contest.)

I hate to admit this because I shouldn't have done it, not sure what got into me, but I stole a copy off the shelf from WalMart this morning.
Anyways, the PUNK interview is really good, but the rest of the issue is so-so. I miss some features they had in the last couple years, especially the "What's In Your Travel Bag?" feature. Also, not sure if it's a new publishing company, but the pages seem a lot cheaper this month than the last time I bought one which was about a year ago....

I would definitely subscribe at that price! I buy it on occasion when I remember to or if something specifically sticks out and makes it must-buy. For example I loved the backstage photos edition. I'd love to see more of that.
