Fandango was reporting that a bit over 50% of their advance ticket orders for the weekend were for Magic Mike. People can't wait to see Kevin Nash!

Ted looks like it's going to make it's budget back this weekend and more.

The estimated $196,900,000 total for top 12 over the weekend is the best single June weekend ever.
Ted is the highest opening for an original R-rated comedy ever, breaking The Hangover's record.

I can't wait to see how big The Watch is.
With Stiller, Vaughn, Hill, Seth Rogen writing and Akiva Schaffer of Lonely Island directing, there's a lot of talent involved.

I honestly expected it to bomb, so I'm really shocked that it's doing as well as it is. What shocks me even more is people I know who hate Family Guy saw it and loved it. I guess I'm going to have to see it after all.

American Dad! shows Seth is still an incredibly funny guy. He just phones it in with Family Guy.

Yeah. If Seth tries for a change, then he can be an incredibly funny guy. Like Koda said, American Dad is his bread and butter if you want him trying. He just keeps doing FG because it's the money maker.

Damn. I was thinking how much Lincoln bombed this week yet Rock of Ages didn't break the top ten.

Yeah, for those of you that are on the fence about it, I highly recommend giving Ted a chance even if you hate Family Guy. I thought it was hilarious.

Damn. I was thinking how much Lincoln bombed this week yet Rock of Ages didn't break the top ten. Just saw RoA today and loved it. And it's a shame the movie didn't do better because Cruise should be the front runner for Supporting Actor. He basically busts out every ounce of charisma at his disposal and utterly steals the movie whenever he shows up, the audience and the movie forgets about everyone else for a good half hour when he shows up. He's really doing something different from his usual with Jaxx and it pays off big. My main complaint about the movie is, of all the stars in the movie, it's understandable that Baldwin and Giamatti barely sing in the movie, why hire Russell Brand, the one guy most known for being able to sing and not give him more numbers, he's only in like three songs, in't the whole point to put the load on those who can handle it?

First-day estimates are in, and it looks like Spidey made $35 million which is a new single-day record for a Tuesday, beating out the $27.8 million that the first Transformers made on it's first day 5 years ago to the day. boxofficemojo.com/alltime/days/f-th.htm?page=Tue&p=.htm

So does this mean Taylor Kitsch's career is officially over? Maybe he should have picked a different stage name.

So does this mean Taylor Kitsch's career is officially over? Maybe he should have picked a different stage name. It sadly probably does mean he won't be having a lead role in anything not an indie film for a few years, if ever. He might get lucky and find supporting roles and possibly character roles, though. Which is a damn shame, because his films bombing isn't really his fault. John Carter(I finally saw it) was f***ing AMAZING, the problem is Disney bungled the marketing of that film BADLY, dear god have I never seen a marketing for a film handled so damn badly. Calling it John Carter was probably the worst mistake they could've done, too. It should've been A Princess of Mars. I know, I know, that fear in Hollywood of attaching Mars to a film's name, because virtually all films with Mars in its title have bombed. But still, that is better than just simply John Carter...... Battleship.....ok that film sucked ass, but it was also released after The Avengers. That isn't his fault it bombed at f***ing all. Everyone was too busy seeing The Avengers for their first, second, or even third, time that weekend. Savages......same issue with Battleship, really, too much audience division. Most people are too busy seeing Spider-Man, Ted, and Brave, that and I honestly haven't seen a single damn ad for Savages. Really the only one of his films this year that wasn't killed because of divided audiences was John Carter, and as I said, Disney mismarketed that film to hell and back. So if Kitsch's career as a lead really is dead for now, he got f***ed over big time, imo.
