I still don';t understand why people think everything Grant Morrison writes is weird. it's like they read a plot synopsis for Invisibles of Doom Patrol and assume everything he writes is like that without actually reading it. his runs on X-men and JLA were VERY straight-forward. he just doesn't treat his audience like idiots who need to be lead by the hand is all.

Morrison's X-Men was fine if you can take all the retcons, and his JLA, while suffering from Poochie syndrome in regards Superman was a decent run. However, he has become the guy whose books make very little sense until you read a final issue of an arc. Then, on the whole, it does tend to all link up and make sense, but for a monthly books, that's irritating, and at times, beyond condescending because his fans constantly bleat on about how he's super clever and anyone criticising is just too dumb to keep up. He doesnt treat his readers like idiots, but he doesnt treat them like monthly readers either. He writes for himself, and everyone else just has to keep up

that I'll give you. he doesn't write with monthlies in mind. that said I never read monthlies, I read everything in trade, so for me it's a non-issue. I just take issue with people characterizing every single thing he does as some bizarre, zany out-there concept when most of his work is fairly straightforward. you can tell before you read the first page whether he's writing something weird or not.

I'm still quite glad he is off. There are some other writers I wouldnt mind seeing take a break as well, but Marvel's NOW idea of changing all the creative teams could change some of that opinion.

If anyone thinks that death in X-Force is going to stick they really need to be *Mean thing*. Finally read Transformers More than Meets Eye {Spoiler} Sweet Rung is alive and Red Alert may actually have a reason to be paranoid. Kind of sucks Black Shadow got offed without us barely getting to see him do anything but the DJD do seem pretty cool. The pack of Decepticon's we're introduced to are an interesting quircky group of rejects and Grimlock is finally back. Hope he doesn't become a G1 inspired Rage idiot

Obviously the death wont stick, but it doesnt take away from the fact that the guy seems unable to write a story without killing someone to progress his plot.
And that, for me, makes the guy a hack.
He better bring a different game to Uncanny Avengers

Remender is pretty damn far from being a hack. And honestly yes he's a bit heavy on the kill button but his character deaths are handled so much better than damn near anyone else, minus how he kill Pat the original partner to Toxin.

Kinda slow week:
-Probably in the minority, but I've quite enjoyed Avengers vs X-Men since the Phoenix Five reveal. The art has obviously increased but the story's picked up as well; I like the idea of the Phoenix power being shown to corrupt good intentions instead of just "BAM! Evil now." It's not masterpiece event or anything, but it's fun, loud, light summer reading.
-Enjoyed Daredevil as always.
-Bummed that iZombie got canceled.
-Need to get caught up on Animal Man and Swamp Thing quick.

Man, comic books hate relationships... {Spoiler}Yeah they do, but I have an amazing apathy for anything involving Panther, so I can't say I'm at all upset about it.

Maybe now Storm can develop as a character again.

Man, comic books hate relationships... *does Santino's Trombone dance* {Spoiler}this goes a long way towards undoing the mess Hudlin made of T'challa's character. the more of that hatemonger's crap that gets thrown out the better.

Maybe now Storm can develop as a character again. {Spoiler}I hope she cleans him out in the divorce {Spoiler}maybe she'll get his magical blanket cure for cancer and actually share it with the world, y'know, something a HERO would do ;D I also gotta disagree about Remender being a hack. he may kill characters a lot but it's always to advance the story, and he write it well. the guy's handling of characters takes him far away from hack territory. a hack is a writer who kills off The Wasp at the end of a terrible crossover for no reason other than he wanted to kill someone, and then has Norman Osborne take over the USA and doesn't ever even bother coming up with a plausible reason why, and then writes a book where he leaves the very concept of characterization to other writers writing adjacent miniseries because he clearly doesn't give a shit. a hack is a writer who can't write a story without making every character in it reprehensibly vile and including at least one traumatic rape scene, even when he's writing something otherwise fun like Wolverine as an old man. a hack is an editor who flat-out ruins his most popular character because he's a crybaby who can't get over the character getting married 20 years ago. Remender is none of those things.

Im sorry, but when you write several books, and in all your books, all you are doing is using death to progress your story (O'Grady in SA, countless people in Venom, countless people in X-Force), then you are showing that you are someone who doesnt appear to have any other idea of how to progress your story. Some of you may disagree, and clearly we'll all have different mileage when it comes to what makes a hack, but just because he writes it well, that doesnt negate the fact all he seems to do to move his story lines on is kill someone. That is just as bad as anything Miller, Bendis or Quesada have done as far as I'm concerned. And as for the BP/Storm divorce, Storm wont get anything in that divorce, as the wedding was annulled by the high priest of the panther cult, which happens to be BP, as this panel shows: ![](http://media.comicbookmovie.com/images/users/uploads/8073/bpstorm.jpg) Bitch slap to Storm!

I'd love if Storm then just said "Whew, I'm glad I'm not married to that sanctimonious A-hole anymore"
