Man ugh. Also people really need to stop screaming FRIDGE anytime a female character dies, s***s stupid,. agreed. a character dying is not a fridging. it's only a fridging if it's needlessly violent and it only happens to give other characters something to motivate them, as if that character had no purpose but to die violently. I recall Gail Simone saying she regrets coining the phrase because of how often it's misused.

Yeah,. that is Emma. Unless she's added later, don't get it. I will say Wolvie with Mutton chops = Awesome. That said, if the book DOES have Dazzler involved, I'll at least give it a shot. I loves me some Dazzler. Underrated character.

A couple more questions: Did anyone get Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre, and if so, how was it? Also, is anyone else pumped about DC's new ongoing Talon in September? I am. I love Tynion and Snyder's work on Batman, and I think this series will be pretty good. Any thoughts? Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre was good....but it wasn't as good as Minutemen. So far, it is a good start for the Before Watchmen series. I am excited about Talon. I love the idea about the Court of Owls and Tynion/Snyder are freaking awesome. But I do agree with one thing....way too many Bat-Titles.....and I love Batman a lot. All I read is Batman, Batman and Robin, Detective Comics, Batman Inc., Nightwing, and now B:TDK because of Scarecrow and a new writer.

Frankly, I'm just waiting to see what the NEXT secret society that's been secretly controlling Gotham for who knows how long Batman has to fight next. Because apparently that's the only story that can be done with that character anymore.

I'm just amazed that, with all these secret, cultish societies running around in Gotham's underground and halls of power, they never ran into each other. I mean, Dr. Hurt's group and this owl cult nonsense never crossed paths, despite both apparently being huge forces in Gotham for years?

I broke my New52 rule and read all 10 issues of Justice League International.
I can see why it's getting cancelled. I usually really like Dan Jurgens, but he just fails across the board here. I don't know if it's because of editorial mandate or what, but it was just a poor book, there was no introduction for the new characters, no attempt made to draw in new readers, they killed off a character randomly, disabled all but one of the females on the team and then just made everyone else look weak and rubbish.
Just bad. New 52 rule back on.

Just bad. New 52 rule back on. I really LOVED DC's status quo before Flashpoint. Conner had just come back (and Blackest Night happened) but everyone's characterizations just seemed so...right. Now post flashpoint, this DCnU has fundamentally changed the characters in such a way that I really don't care anymore. I tried reading Superman, but honestly, I can't stay focused. SUPERMAN is now a boring book. As a whole, I can't help but feel underwhelmed at everything outside of the costume changes.

I was going to give the new Stormwatch a try as well, but JLI has really put me off.

I also wanted Plastic Man ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png)

Turns out she is just Medusa, but useless. Then they dumped Batwing and OMAC in to the series and apparently killed off Rocket Red and I was like, F*** this book

I love Batman and all but he doesn't need to be in both Justice Leagues and in 5 other comics.....if they wanted to use someone from the Batverse, use one of the heroes from Batman Inc.

I didn't mind Batman being there, he was in the original and all, I just didn't like the sort of pseudo-Galactus/Celestials storyline that was the first arc, and then the inclusion of some useless extras over people like Fire, Ice and Vixen, who are criminally underused characters. Adding 'Falcon' and 'Hulk' isn't fooling anyone

I agree, I didn't enjoy the first arc at all.....or even the next arc after. I never really cared for Vixen but Fire and Ice, who I actually enjoy, got screwed. I did like the Gardner/Booster conflict and didn't like the Booster/Godiva connection. It seemed the only reason why she was there was so she could hit on Booster and flirt with him.
Also, does anyone ever post the comic book release lists anymore here? I was about to do that and discuss my pull list...but I don't want to take that from someone who does.
